Jeremy Clarkson 'Should Be Fired' After Recent Racism Scandal

Calls for Jeremy Clarkson to be fired from the BBC have been sparked following the Top Gear presenter's apparent usage of the 'n-word'. The racist slur was supposedly used while Clarkson was deciding on camera between the Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 using the 'eeny, meeny, miny, moe' rhyme. The usage of the racist term in the rhyme dates back to around 1888 when American school children would use the word n****r instead of tiger as we know it today. While investigations into the scene (which was never aired) continue, Jeremy Clarkson tweeted the following:

I did not use the n word. Never use it. The Mirror has gone way too far this time.

Clarkson's Top Gear co-host James May has come to his defence, tweeting:

Jeremy Clarkson is not a racist. He is a monumental bellend and many other things, but not a racist. I wouldn't work with one. #ThatIsAll

Some Twitter users aren't convinced, however, calling for the world's most renowned motoring journalist to be fired:

Even Clarkson's most hated TV personality and journalist, Piers Morgan, tweeted the following:

Ron Atkinson was fired by @ITV for using the N-word. Don't see how the BBC can avoid firing @JeremyClarkson if he did the same.

Digital forensic analysts who were hired by The Mirror confirmed that Clarkson did in fact mumble the word n****r during the scene: "My transcript is as follows - Eeny, meeny, miny, moe,, catch a n*** by his toe, when he squeals let him go, eeny, meeny, miny, moe." As the investigation continues, one thing can't be denied. On first inspection, it does indeed sound like Clarkson uses the word, but on behalf of all Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson fans, we sure as hell hope we're mistaken. We'll keep you updated.
