To The Bat(tista)mobile! Bruce Wayne-Inspired Pininfarina Battista Unveiled

The last time DC, creators of the Batman franchise, teamed up with a car company, the result was the limited-edition Nissan Juke Kiiro, which featured a matte grey paintjob and was promoted alongside 2022’s The Batman. Truthfully, it didn’t really strike anyone as the kind of car that either Bruce Wayne or his chiropteran crime-fighting alter ego would knock about in. It was hardly a quintessential Batmobile.

These cars, though, seem a bit more on-brand. They’re a series of special editions of Automobili Pininfarina’s Battista and B95 electric hypercars created in collaboration with DC and Warner Brothers, specifically the latter’s Wayne Enterprises sub-brand which has also seen the creation of Batman-themed e-bikes and electric jet skis.

Pininfarina and Wayne Enterprises have taken a two-faced approach, with each car available in both ‘Gotham’ and ‘Dark Knight’ specifications. The former apparently reflects “the gentle, civilian sophistication” of Bruce Wayne, and is finished in a shade of grey known as Argento Vittorio, which is offset by a black roof on the hardtop Battista. Both have interiors upholstered in tan leather with unique quilting.

The Dark Knight theme, meanwhile, draws from the upside-down-mammal-inspired personality that Wayne takes on during, erm, dark nights. These cars are painted in ‘Nero Profondo’ black, and get a matching black interior in leather and Alcantara. Contrasting the black bodywork are brightly polished wheels, giving the car a colour scheme reminiscent of a penguin.

Both cars are unchanged mechanically from the standard Battista and B95, which means a Rimac-supplied electric drivetrain supplying all four wheels. The Battista will quietly rocket to 62mph in 1.9 seconds, while Pininfarina says the roofless, windscreen-less B95 is similarly capable of getting it down below two seconds.

Pininfarina hasn’t said how many of each will be produced, but you’re currently able to get your name down for an allocation of all four versions. The prices are no jokers: both Battistas come in at €3.4 million (around £2.9 million), while you’ll need to stump up €4.9 million (approximately £4.2 million) for the B95.
