Police Footage Shows The Moment A Plane Crash-Landed On A Road
A dashcam mounted in a police vehicle captured the moment a plane attempted to land on a road in Clearwater, Florida
Two deputies of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office received something of a surprise on Sunday morning. While out on an unrelated call, the deputies spotted a single-engined plane bearing down on them, seemingly on approach to land on North Hercules Avenue in Clearwater, Florida.
The plane is thought to have encountered engine issues shortly after taking off from Clearwater Airpark, forcing the pilot to bring the plane down on the (fortunately fairly wide) road, crashing into a tree shortly after.
Fortunately, the 61-year-old pilot and his 55-year-old passenger escaped seemingly without injury, and declined medical treatment at the scene.
The FAA and NTSB are currently investigating the crash.

“Declined medical treatment”?
In Germany, if you just pretty much dropped from the sky into a tree you would have to let doctors check you.
I mean, planes are incredibly safe and he hit the tree at a low speed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was entirely unscathed. “Declined treatment” just means when they asked if he was ok, he said “yeah I’m fine”
