Afternoon all, welcome back to my kitchen table, and to another episode of Crock or Classic, in which I look at previously overlooked cars that have the potential to be classics, or crocks, very soon. And in this episode, we’re going to be taking a look at the car that in my opinion, was the catalyst for the executive 80s coupe, the Opel Manta B2. When the first Opel Manta hit showrooms in 1970, it was met with harsh opposition from Opel’s middle-class, conservative market, and as a result it sold so poorly that Opel considered stopping production in 1973.

Hello my friends, welcome back to my kitchen table, and welcome back to another episode of Crock or Classic, where I look at cars that may have been overlooked, yet might start to attain classic status in the years to come. A certain car that I would like to take a look at today is one that I had the pleasure of owning for about six months, and that is a BMW Z3 M, a car which, in my opinion, is not deserving of the amount of hate it recieves on a daily basis.

I apologise for my long break, guys, but no matter, I’m back with another fantastic article about an overlooked and overall underrated car from Porsche, the 914 model. This, back in 1974, should have been a huge hit for the German manufacturer. A small, hard-topped, mid-engined convertible sports car? The masses should have been eating it up like butter, yet, when it was finally released, the public saw a slow, cramped, unwieldy little banger. Hence, the 914 was quickly forgotten within the midst of the 911, as around that time the instant classic that was the Carrera RS came out.

If we look back to the golden age of Rovers, around the 60s and early 70s, we see a great lineup of beefed-up executive saloons that were the perfect blend of actual practicality and madness. Cars like the SD1 V8 and the P6 V8, they all set your emotions on fire by being sensible on the outside, but when you turned the key and the V8 growled from its slumber, you knew you were dealing with something that was not as it seemed. So when I was at the annual Pride of Longbridge 2017, I had the opportunity to actually drive one of the final Rovers ever made, a genuine 2005 75 V8.
