A similar procedure may also apply to other BMW models of this generation such as an E24 and E28, this particular car is a 1984 733i equipped with an M30. I’ve already replaced the pressure reservoir for the brake booster and I do have a tutorial for that, so if you’re seeking more info, be sure to check out that video. #BMW #oemtools #bmw7series

Video tutorial on how to remove and clean the integrated power distribution fuse box module under the hood. Over time, being exposed to moisture and with age, the fuse box can develop corrosion which leads to many different electrical issues. After cleaning the TIPM, this solved my battery drain issue. Video tutorial on how to replace the upper ball joint on a third generation Dodge Ram. The truck I am working with here is a 2006 1500 4x4 model and it has the pressed in version. Depending on the severity of the ball joint, you may noticed clunking when driving, wandering, irregular tire wear, and in this case I can use a pry bar to demonstrate the play in the joint while the truck is still on the ground.

Video tutorial on how to restore, condition, and protect faded plastic or rubber trim. Here I am using a product from Lithium Auto Elixirs, this is their Trim Serum plastic restorer. Now I have had some time to test out this product, to determine it’s durability and overall I am extremely with how it’s held up than compared to other products on the market that I’ve used in the past. Video tutorial on how to clean and lubricate trunk, hatch, or hood struts. These struts can wear out over time and will eventually require a replacement. Replacements are required when the struts are no longer able to hold up the truck, hatch, or hood. Replacements are usually cheap. But you can prolong their life with a small amount of maintenance and even smoothen their operation. When my hatch is open for extended periods of time, the seals will squeak. There maybe dust in the seals or they’re a bit dry.

Video tutorial on how to replace the upper control arms for the rear suspension on a Volvo C30. This is a 2007 model and the same procedure can also be used on the Volvo S40, V50, and C70 models of the same generation. Worn control arm bushings will cause excessive inner tire wear and when inspecting the bushings, you’ll notice rubber deterioration such as cracking. This car currently has 140,000km and as far as I know, these are the original control arms.

This car will also be getting a TCV upgrade thanks to IPDUSA. I am using IPD’s heavy duty turbo control valve for the P1 cars.

Video tutorial on how to replace the blend door actuator for the hvac system on a Ford Ranger. A similar procedure may also apply to other Ford models, the Mazda B series, this is a 1998 model truck. This is a fairly common problem, over time the actuator can become dirty inside or eventually wear out. I did release a video about 3 years ago on cleaning the actuator and it did last up until now, eventually the contacts inside or the motor can wear out. There is a couple different types available, this will be based on what type of climate controls you have.

Video tutorial on how to install caster and camber bolts in your Ford Ranger. If you remember a while back, I released tutorials on replacing the upper control arms, lower ball joints, and tie rods for this truck. I am working with a 1998 2wd model and you’ll find a similar up to 2012 and possibly on the 4wd models as well. These trucks usually have a fixed setting from factory and cannot be adjusted unless you install new bolts. While these bolts are only replaced on the upper control arms, they are able to do two adjustments which is camber and caster angles.

Video tutorial on how to replace the positive crankcase ventilation, or for short pcv diaphragm on your Volvo T5 engine. The car I’m working with is a 2007 Volvo C30 T5, the T5 engine depending on the model does come with a couple different styles of PCV systems. This engine has the heated PCV system and it comes as an assembly with the oil filter housing which is about $300 from the dealer. The other style is basically a plastic box which includes an oil trap instead and is about a quarter of the price.

Video tutorial on how to jump start a vehicle using a portable booster power pack. The model I’ll be using for this demonstration is a 12,000 mAh Li-Ion jumper starter and power bank combo made by OEMTOOLS model number 24475, from mobile distributor supply. A link to this product will be included in the description below. The reasons for a dead battery can vary from something simple such as leaving the lights on or more complicated areas such as a failing battery, alternator isn’t charging, corrosion on the battery terminals, or a parasitic draw.

Video tutorial on how to replace the coolant expansion tank on a Volvo C30. The same procedure also applied to the S40, V50, and C70 models as well. Over time due to the heat and age, these tanks can become brittle, crack, and if excessive can leak. Mine isn’t to the point of leaking, but I have noticed some light cracking so I’d rather just be safe. From what I’ve found, aftermarket replacements don’t tend to fit well or are cheaply made, so for this I have stuck with an OEM unit.

Video tutorial on how to how to install a weld in exhaust bung which is typically used for 02 sensor, but can have other uses as well. These exhaust bungs can usually be purchased for a couple dollars at your local auto parts store, this one was purchased from a local exhaust manufacturer wholesaler, along with the rest of the parts as well. I’m redoing the whole exhaust system on this truck which is a 98 Ford Ranger. This truck is equipped with 2 oxygen sensors, therefore it has post and pre cat sensors.

Video tutorial on how to replace the cabin filter on a Volvo C30. The same procedure also applied to the Volvo S40, Volvo V50, and Volvo C70 models as well. A dirty or plugged cabin filter can cause poor heating or ac performance. It’ll reduce airflow, cause foul odours, and can put excessive strain on your hvac fan.

Video tutorial on how to replace the passenger side or right axle on a Volvo C30. Similar procedure can also be found on the S40, V50, and C70 models. Typically a dry or worn cv joint can cause vibrations under acceleration or at certain speeds, create a clicking noise, and then having a growling noise similar to a bearing depending on the severity. After extensive searching, while some people have had good experience with aftermarket units, it should also be mentioned that issues with aftermarket units is quite common unfortunately.

Video tutorial on how to replace the serpentine belts, along with tensioner removal, I will be replacing the alternators tension on a Volvo C30 T5. Similar procedure can also be found on the S40, V50, and C70 models. A slipping belt will squeal or chirp, this sound may come and ago and can be more noticeable during a morning dew or in the rain. Depending on the severity, this can disappear once the vehicle warms up. Sometimes you can apply a dressing to a squeaking or squealing belt, but for the most part that’s just a temporary fix and the noise will eventually come back.

Video tutorial on how to remove and clean the Central Electronic Module or CEM for short on a Volvo. This particular car I am working with here is a 2007 Volvo C30 and a similar procedure can also be found on the S40, V50, and C70 models. Dirty connection on the CEM can cause quite a few problems either relating to the security system, ignition, gauges, wipers, power accessories, lighting, safety restraint system, a majority of electrical components in the car. For this car, my radio is experiencing an intermediate operation, especially on more humid days.
