I don’t like the crossover trend, and I want everyone reading this to know that. Crossovers tend to be poorly executed, and only good as a corporate-sponsored visual torture technique. What started out as an interesting concept became cheapened to the point of disgust. Nowadays, the average crossover makes a Honda Odyssey or Chevrolet Tahoe seem like a quirky alternative. It makes me long for the days where 90s Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition, an Isuzu Rodeo, or original Jeep Cherokee XJs populated suburbia.

With all the interest in self-driving and electric cars, one specific area in the transportation landscape does not yield much glamour, but upon further inspection, could see a real revolution. That area of transportation which has substantial room for improvement, and could be fixed as soon as the laws allow, happens to be speed limits and the resulting traffic management. We live in an age where Youtube has a self-learning algorithm behind it that, despite its foibles, manages to function at a level that would be unthinkable just 5 years ago.

In episode 4 of season 2 of The Grand Tour, the trio set off to do a completely unscripted and unplanned film. Unsurprisingly, things did not go smoothly, but that was kind of the point. This film highlights the necessity of planning and to a certain degree scripting in real-world car films that we have loved since the trio’s Top Gear era.

The majority of casual car lovers, hardcore enthusiasts, and automotive journalists love to rant and rave about supercars and sports cars with timeless beauty or glamour. Despite the justifiable fanfare, I believe not enough credit goes to regular cars with style. You see, with a regular car, the design has to be practical, it has to fit a budget, and it has to appeal to a wider demographic. Additionally, most of us will only ever own a ‘regular car’ even if we modify it into something unique.

Selling and buying cars online from private sellers can be an amazing opportunity for all parties involved, but there are some rules of etiquette that need to be followed for the system to work. Most of thee rules will be just common sense, but you would be surprised at how many people lack common sense on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and the internet in general. So let’s address ten key rules to follow for selling your car online in order to not look like an imbecile.

So recently I have been daily driving a 2009 8th gen Honda Civic DX Sedan. Generally, it’s been a decent car, but there are reasons why I am still hoping to get into a new car soon. So, I thought a review of the car would be in order, considering I have been driving it for a while now. Let’s look at some different areas with which I will analyze how this Civic performs.

If you watch any Jeopardy, the only entertaining game show left nowadays, you would know that Austin Rogers, a new york bartender hipster looking guy recently went on a winning streak and did so with style. What’s not being publicized is how Austin happens to be somewhat of a Petrolhead. This first came to my attention in an early episode, where he explains to Alex Trebek how his imported London taxi cab is right hand drive and stick shift.

Cars and music. While these two interests are vastly different on the surface, they both have an association with each other. Strangely, they actually go well together like peanut butter and jelly. Ever since car radios became popular, automobiles and song have been wedded. So today, for my 50th monday music, I present to you some of my favorite automotive imagery from the music world.

What exactly do I mean by communal/diy car garage? Well, my fellow car nerds, it’s the idea of a space where one can service their own car either for a fee or free (from tax dollars). The concept does not necessarily mean this space has to be privately or publicly owned, that’s an argument for another day. Some basic tools could and a lift also be provided, but nothing too expensive would be a good idea.

If you look at Subaru and the now-defunct AMC, surprisingly there are numerous points of comparison. Both were always small car brands in their respective home nations, both made quirky cars, both have a history of partnerships with other companies, and both succeeded by being ahead of the curve. However, one failed, AMC, and the other is one of the most profitable fastest growing car brands. How has Subaru managed to succeed where AMC previously failed? Some of it was luck, some of it was better advertising, and yes some of it had to do with the quality of their cars.

Recently, I have been trying to build up a new Instagram account and things have been going fine, but things have been bothering me about the platform. There are just a lot of fake car people on the platform. It’s not necessarily that the people are not into at all cars, but as people, they are very fake. Let’s dive blown head gaskets first into the most toxic and cringe-worthy aspects of the community.

It may seem like I chose this topic at random, but it’s actually something that’s interested me since my increased activity on Instagram. It seems there are two sides to the spectrum of people interested in automobiles. On the one side, you have those with the most expensive cars and they insistently brag about how great their car is. It’s worth noting, very few of these people work on their car ever. On the other side, you have people who are less braggadocious and work hard to maintain their car. Many of them have even built their car practically from the ground up.

Doug Demuro, popular Youtube car reviewer, author, automotive journalist, and a very successful internet persona. To me, Doug seems like one of the most uncontroversial figures in the community, but for some reason, he appears to get undue hate from some in the community. Most people have nothing to say about his content and just call him a d-bag a lot. Yes, even personality can be something worthy of critique when you run a popular Youtube channel and when you are in general a public figure, but most of the hate directed at Doug does not seem valid.

The majority of everyone here, me included, probably holds the automobile as their favorite most cherished form of transport. However, in this post, I endeavor to explain why trains are something petrolheads should be thankful for, and why petrolheads should support train usage and the building up of the rail infrastructure and technology. While I’m not aiming to make you all ride the train, or become avid train watchers, I hope you viewers gain an appreciation for the role railed transport can play in bettering society, and even improving the driving experience.

Welcome to Summer, I know it already started for most of yall, but today was my last official day of school. Technically, it happened to be a half day, we all just d!cked around till 11:00. Anyway, let’s get into some good summer tunes. Some of the best summer tunes, and summer car related tunes are by the classic band which came to fame in the 60s, who need no introduction, the Beach Boys. Some reject their often carefree nature as too corporate and claim their music is not worth any artistic merit.

A while back I caught a video by the Youtube channel Vlogbrothers, which frustrated me as a car person. For those not in the know, Vlogbrothers is a popular Youtube channel run by a brother duo of John Green, author of “The Faults in Our Stars” and his brother Hank Green leans towards science and music. This video in question happened to be the younger Brother Hank. You see, this video claims that scientifically driving alone is a detriment to one’s happiness and posits that riding a bike to work every day will make you happier.

Jeep’s trucks have long been the object of affection for offroaders and truck enthusiasts alike. I’m not normally into trucks, but the concept of a Jeep truck peeks my interest. Perhaps much of it has to do with the idea of taking an all terrain 4x4 and giving it a bed instead of the usual concept adopted by Ford and others of putting 4x4s on truck chassis. Now, instead of being a work truck, this is very much a fun truck, or at least a whistle while you work truck.

One of the most popular philosophical takes on the world is romanticism. While too much romanticism can lead to insanity, in healthy doses romanticism can help improve the quality of one’s life. According to Britannica, Romanticism is as an intellectual movement and state of mind with an influence over art, especially literature, popular from the mid-18th century to the mid 19th century, but still with many dedicated followers. To form a well-rounded personality and art, Romanticism remains Paramount in that process.

Many people have debated over the years whether 1 car is worth a cost based on the number of other cars you could have for the same money. While nobody argues that supercars and ultra high end luxury cars are awesome, there also comes benifits with having a fleet of cheaper vehicles for the same price. Many are so rich they can afford a really nice car and then many more affordable ones, but for the rest of us, we will have to consider whether we should make that big purchase of a car with our life savings or to maintain a diversified garage.

New series! Wow!! Much New!!! Much Deep Thoughts!!!! No, but seriously, this is a series I hope to start about analyzing automotive topics with short blogs. My wish is to provoke thought, but I promise to not take this too seriously or try to act enlightened. So let’s get right into the meat of this topic! So to some the very thought of comparing a brand which has never sold a car over 40k with a German technoligical powerhouse which sells many sports cars of 6 digits or even 7! While there are clear differences, the parallels reveal truths about good car production.

So yesterday I went to Costco, home of organic food, free samples, and most of all ‘buying in bulk!’. I checked out a few cameras, I want an affordable DSLR with a flip out screen for possible vlog videos, but decided the 80D and the Nikon option were too expensive. Side note, I want to get a Canon Rebel T5i, comment below what you think about that. Anyway, let’s not get distracted by my delusions of someday becoming a Youtube filmmaker, and get back to the story.

Recently, Nascar has made up new rules so complicated and convoluted, that most fans don’t have the brain cells left to even comprehend, especially after all the Budweisers, and Miller Lites that Nascar’s marketing machine brainwashed them into buying.
