So…after about 9-10 mon-I mean, years of not writing blogposts due to being busy, and the fact that user activity has dropped in CarThrottle, thus dropping my motivation on writing for fun, I decided to go back to my old self from late 2015. But, I don’t have cars to review or researched lists to be made so, I decided to do a small little quicklist writeup about the two things I really like in my life: motorsport and tobacco.

There are certain JDM cars which have become very well known on the internet, thanks to the Grand Turismo games, F&F films, or Initial D. These well-known JDM cars include the Nissan Skyline GTR (particularly the R34), the Toyota Supra, the Toyota AE86, and more besides. Today, we will concentrate on the lesser-known cars. Toyota Celica GT4

Oh boy, what a way to start. First off, I’d like to say that I’m about to get slammed with Swedish and Norwegian Car Throttle readers. I can already hear them: “We already know this!” Fantastic, the problem is that most others do not. Let’s start by first going over what makes a good drift car. Obviously, it’s going to need to be rear wheel drive. Manual transmissions are a plus, along with a good weight distribution and a solid engine platform. While the S chassis and Miata DO fulfill those categories (for the most part), they miss out on the last one. Price.

Most exotic car makers started off with an incredibly rich artist or engineer, throwing in tonnes of money to make some awesome cars. Ferrari for instance, was carrefully brought up by a man called Enzo. Who had a passion, for what he did. And arguably, Ferrari’s beginnings were a bit predictable. Lamborghini on the other hand, was brought up….slightly differently. Whereas Enzo was the smart A-grade student. Mr Ferruccio Lamborghini, was more of the kid, who loved to start a scrap. (But had serious knowlege)

The South Korean automobile industry has gone from strength to strength over the last forty years, and is now the fifth largest in the world. The cars are just as good, if not better, than anything offered by European, American or Japanese manufacturers, and are very reliable. And that’s fine. But they’ve never been the go-to for enthusiasts. Yes, Hyundai has the Genesis and Veloster, and Kia has the Pro_C’eed GT, but that’s sort of it, right? Wrong.

A diesel owners nightmare. Runaway diesel. It’s exactly how it sounds. A diesel engine that just wont stop. Causing many problems, such as damages, injury or worse. I hope this will help educate someone who is in the market for a diesel or currently has a diesel powered vehicle. This is most definitely not meant to discourage current or future diesel owners. My intention is to help those who may come across this rare, but possible occurrence.

The American Le Mans Series or ALMS and the Rolex sports car championship are two examples of trying to bring a European sport to a tough American market. The two where multi class endurance series like what we now know as the WEC. The two series focused on two different aspects of multi class racing, Le Mans spec and cheaper alternatives. Both failed to stay relevant causing them to merge into IMSA

Just a note: #OldNews. This actually quite old. Really old in fact. I started writing this over a year ago and never really got to finishing it or publishing it. I think CarThrottle beat me to the punch and posted something along similar lines, and I did not want to feel like I was too much of a copycat. It has just been sitting in my drafts and, I just could not get myself to delete it. So I thought I would finish it up publish it, and revel in the five up-votes it will no doubt end up getting. SO I hope people at least find this perspective interesting.

Since when I have responding to these challenges? Quite long tho. Ahem. So, welcome to my post of the #BonnevilleSaltFlats build, which the main purpose is to churn the highest speed possible in one mile at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Unlike any other build posts, I made a story about the car I’m going to build fo the challenge. Note: if any parts is typed with bold letters, that means it is the parts I’m gonna use for the build. Stats for the car, is shown in italics . So, here’s the story.

I’ve known for a while this has been coming, and frankly, it has been worrying me a little. I haven’t driven a new BMW in a long time, but for the past year I have been driving my own 3 Series. It’s 16 years old and somewhat beaten up on the inside, but still very comfortable in an old but good car kind of manner. The tech is, of course, old school but with a little upgrade it has enough to do what I need. The engine is a three litre straight six making enough power for me get in trouble, but the handling is crisp and reactive enough for me to get straight out of it again.

Before i start, i’m well aware that this is NOT a car, i just thought of sharing this just to show you guys how crazy the Germans were in terms of design concept.

From what I’ve seen so far, you guy’s opinion on the 787B was that it was so fast it was banned. I did A little research and it’s not as straight forward you you guys thought. Now let me get this out there now, I’m not saying the car was slow and it got lucky. I’m saying that a combination of untested rules, politics, and capitalizing on others misfortunes caused one of the most heated debates over an iconic car.

So, before we begin I want to say something. I am a huge fan of Lamborghini, it was actually a small Lamborghini Murcielago toy car what got me into liking cars. The story of the Italian manufacturer and Formula 1 was my very first article on CT . A bunch of copy-paste with some pictures here and there that somehow managed to get over 100 upvotes. I am writing this article motivated by 2 reasons.

In 1966, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, or FIA, created a new category of race cars, Group 7. The series these would be driven in was called Can-Am, which would be sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America, or SCCA. The series would consist of six races, two in Canada, and four in America. The cars would have to be purpose built, two seat race cars, have two doors, fenders, a self-starter, headlights, taillights and a dual braking system. That’s it. The car designers and team owners had free reign. They could do whatever and however they wanted to do it to win.

well this was BMW’s chance to get into group B rallying so what what went so wrong for them, today in this blog post i will tel you all of the good and also the bad things about this homologation special, first of all a homologation special is In Motorsports, homologation is the approval process through which a vehicle, a race track, or a standardised part is required to go for certification to race in a given league or series and to enter specific races the manufacturer must come up with road going versions of there race car in order to enter.

Another month, another look back at the greatest projects in Forge's history, and this time it's the turn of the frankly epic Forge Motorsport Berg Cup VW Golf Mk1 The Germans, as you might have noticed, don’t do things by halves, and this has never been truer then when in reference to their hillclimbs. Hillclimbing has a long and rich history in the UK of course, but the Germans have taken the sport several stages further, and the jewel in the European hillclimb crown is undoubtedly The Berg Cup, a celebration of all things bonkers and stupidly powerful.

World War II have finally come to an end. Thanks to raw materials shortage during the war, the Swedish market is now in need of a small car that’s economical and tough. And that’s why the Volvo PV444/544 was born.

Want to relive some weird fantasy in which you find yourself as Uncle Jesse instead of them good old Duke Boys? Well believe it or not a good farm truck will be much easier to find (and much cheaper) than a 69 Charger. But what are they like to live with? I can tell you from my 22-year old point of view that it might take some major adjusting to what the normal view of a ‘daily driver’ is. I can also tell you that it’s actually one of the best ways to learn how to work on your own car if you can only have one vehicle.

Now I’m going to just get this out there now I don’t feel like this is a fair comparison as on one end you have a totally spec series vs designing your own car. There will be a difference in how the cars race, but this is a pretty big topic so I share my opinion.

The italian car company De Tomaso was a famous and luxurious brand. The founder was the argentinian Alejandro de Tomaso ( That´s why the logo of De Tomaso has an argentinian flag on it ) , he was born in 1928 and went to Bologna in 1955. At first, he wanted to build race cars for the Formula 1 and he also built some cars, but they were never really used in the F1. He also built cars for the Formula 3 and Indianapolis, however, those weren´t used, too.

First off,I wanna make it clear that I’ve played both,FiveM and GTA Online, and to kick things out I’m gonna start by saying that GTA Online got insanely boring,I mean, after a while, you realize that you are doing the same things. Most people make money out of heists, which after doing them several times, get really boring. Races are ok until you get tired of people crashing into you or ramming you out of the road. And hackers killing you and destroying your cars are just annoying.

Defining a “cult car” is not an easy task. Us petrol-heads need a common way of characterizing the term, but this can start to become subjective once we get to selection stage. So I arrived at a few criteria to help narrow down the propositions in the market to the 10 listed below. The car needs to be desirable, sometimes to overcome shortcomings in practicality, and sometimes as a payback for the price tag.

F1 has became a mini zoo with small creatures and critters appearing out of nowhere on the track at any time. Here are a few animals we’ve seen on the circus since 2000. During the 2001 Austrian Grand Prix a deer was spotted crossing a gravel trap on the circuit, prompting Juan Pablo Montoya to exclaim “Oh deer!”
