He-hey, everybody! It’s me, Mickey Mouse! Today, I’m participating in a #BuildPost challenge that Debodeep started. To compete in this challenge, one must build a street-legal touge race car that is ready to tackle the Usui downhill, the road that Keiichi Tsuchiya calls his home course. For this, the cars must be built for handling first, acceleration next, and top speed last. With that being stated, let’s push the boundaries of what a road car can do!

He-hey, everybody! It’s me, Mickey Mouse! I’m glad to be posting here today, especially because I’m participating in a #BuildPost challenge that MR2Maniac started. In this challenge, the goal is to build a car that’s destined to race at speeds of 160 miles per hour and beyond as a member of the Mid Night Club. Now, where did I start?

It is a general fact that many Porsche purists and enthusiasts view the 996-generation Porsche 911 as the lowest point in the 911’s lifespan. Their reasoning for this verdict stem from the hideous headlights, the infamous intermediate shaft’s ball-bearing failure, and the sacrilegious swap to water-cooling. The release of the Cayman slightly before this new generation and the rise of mass production do not help the car’s case for perfectionists; compared to the 911’s of yore, this was the ugly duckling.

Honda’s second edition of its lauded sports car, the NSX, breaks away from its predecessor in many aspects. Where there once was a stick shift, there is now only a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission. The original car had 3.0 and 3.2 L V6’s, both naturally aspirated, but the new car has a 3.5 L V6 that is aided by two turbochargers and three electric motors. This configuration transmits power to all four wheels rather than the two rears that the former car utilized. In size and weight, the newer car is larger and heavier, with the featherweight original being smaller.

Driving is a liberating sense that makes us feel free out on the open road. Driving is bliss that makes us enjoy the scenery around us and gives us time to relax. Driving is so much more than going from one point to another; it is about the segment that is between those two points, which is filled with curves, straights, and stop signs. Driving is building a personal bond with a car as both of you stick together through sunny days as well as rainy days and the occasional snowy day.

Electricity has potential in passenger vehicles, but in its current state of innovation, it falls short to the Diesel engine. Not only are Diesels lauded for their torque and efficiency, but also for their reliability and range. A vehicle powered by a Diesel engine is not always a dirty, lifted truck that spews coal at every chance it gets; in more economical applications, it is an engine that can obtain high fuel efficiencies without sacrificing its ability to pull a trailer.

I want to do something mental. I want to make a car that blows every idea of a car out of the water and deep into space, where it continues going faster and faster without the limitations of air or gravity. I want to make a car that can corner just as well as it can accelerate, one that can spin like and top and launch like a bottle rocket as it flies around corners like a Styrofoam glider.

Above is what can be reckoned one of, if not, the, most beautiful shapes to ever be penned and forged, with those respective contours and panels belonging to a car even Enzo Ferrari thought it was “the most beautiful car ever made.” The Jaguar E-Type, a symbol of Great Britain and, as a whole, Europe, exudes a sophisticated, refined aura that is present in many of the cars from the continent.

“Life, like a child, laughs, shaking its rattle of death as it runs.” That is the best way to describe the Dodge Viper’s time on this planet; it was a carefree beast, one that should not be mistaken as brutish, clumsy, or lazy. Doing this would be a major error that would be a slippery slope to the car’s revenge by lashing out at the driver, losing control and injuring the controller.

Some say that things get better with age, and in an era where Moore’s Law is beginning to appear slower than technology’s pace, that statement holds true. Pixels, which used to be large blocks that took up a screen, are now divided so finely that one can’t even realize how small they are. Individual units have disappeared into objects, three-dimensional models that traipse from one area to another, exciting us further.

It seems that there’s something off with the 2017 Ford GT. Raj Nair nailed it with the aerodynamic body, technological showcasing, and the performance, but the EcoBoost V6 feels awkward in such a modern interpretation of Ford’s original supercar, the GT40, which was endowed with such famous V8’s as the 289, the 302, and the 427. There are many interpretations that one could take with its successor, but Nair decided that it would be best in making this car a technological showcase rather than channelling the car’s original soul like the second GT.

Both forms of forced induction that we know of, superchargers and turbochargers, are naturally flawed in some respects.

Carroll Shelby’s idea of shoehorning Ford’s V8 in an AC Ace in place of its straight-six came a long way from its first experimental run in 1962. He originally wanted to source one from Chevrolet, but due to fears of this lightweight car becoming a competitor to their lithe Corvette, the General retreated from the deal. In a stroke of opportunity, Ford was searching for a car that could rival (and beat) Chevrolet’s flagship, and they recently created a new engine - the 260 cubic inch (4.3 liter) Windsor V8.

(Welcome to the third article in my series, The Hot Seat, where I drive incredible, cool cars from my point of view! Today, however, I’m diverting from this by speaking about the 2007 Toyota Corolla LE, which wasn’t crazily powerful or maniacally, meticulously engineered, but was especially with helping me to learn the art of driving through its slower nature. I hope you like the article, and if you have any questions, comment below!)

Ayrton Senna: a name that inspires confidence and pride, a tsunami in the deep, sifting ocean of motorsport history, rich in krill-like factoids which we consume daily. Without him, we wouldn’t just have increased concerns over safety, but we wouldn’t be shown man’s skill, pushed to the limit, on a series of lefts, rights, and straights. He is the one many people wish to become, the one that makes people believe that the road from rookie to three-time world champion is one filled with glory, success, and, most importantly, dedication.

In the past, many race cars wore liveries that stood out and identified themselves as unique representations of a team’s support from its sponsors. Today, many of them stood the test of time, remaining popular even today with current supercars and hypercars, giving the appearance that it can be driven to the track (while catching many glances from passerby) and brought back after a day there like its predecessors did. Here are ten liveries that endured throughout motorsport’s history, now placed on some of the fastest road cars of today.
