So I’ve bought FM7 recently and overall I’ve been very pleased with the game. There are some cars that sound a bit off, but I knew I’d get use to it, it’s not that much of a problem. What really disappointed me recently was when I drove the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 on the Nordschleife. The first 30 seconds was fun, but after that my completely stock Porsche decided it wanted to do wheelies every time I exit a high speed corner.

South Africa is not really known for manufacturing cars, however, back in the days we had quite a few car models that were only built for the South African market. There were cars here such as the Ford Capri Piranha V8 and Ford Sierra XR8 … but I will be focusing on newer models in this post.

So we all know the Dual Clutch Transmissions shift lightning fast, but quickshifting with a manual transmission not only sounds more aggressive than an auto, but it also feels amazing. The g -force in between shifts in a manual is much more noticeable than in a automatic. Then there is powershifting, which is much more risky but sounds crazy when done correctly. Like the driver in the video explains, powershifting will only give you an advantage when shifting from 1st to 2nd, other than that quickshifting will be good enough.

Toyota Starlet Glanza V The Starlet Glanza V had a 16 Valve 1.3i Turbocharged motor producing 133bhp to the front wheels. It only weighed 950kg which meant it could do 0 - 60mph in 8.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 130mph. (not too shabby for a 1.3i motor) Mazda Lantis 1.8i DOHC Type S Powered by a naturally aspirated 1.8i DOHC motor producing 133bhp to the front wheels via a 5 speed gearbox. It will go from 0 - 60 in 8.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 127mph. (Very closely matched to the Starlet)

It is my dad’s car, but I drive with it 90% of the time. My dad bought it new in 2004 and it’s still going strong. This car is special to me because I basically grew up with the car (I was 8 years old when my dad bought it) and the way my father drove with the car turned me into a car enthusiast. It is not a fast car by any means, but it will impress some people when they realize it’s only a 1.3 engine. Specs: 1300 Carburetor. 50mm stainless steel cat back exhaust with 4-2-1 headers. Engine’s been rebored. Car weighs around 940kg
