Have you ever thought: “Hmm, I don’t want a normal luxury saloon! What I want instead, is an old off-roader from 1979 with a biturbo V12, a soft-top and more luxuries than a private jet”, then this is just the automobile for you (whoever you are…) Anyways! Since the good ol’ Geländewagen is soon going to die, Mercedes decided to give it one last hurrah. To do that, they took a 535 cm long G-class (and all its 224 cm of ground clearance), put in an AMG 6.0 litre, biturbo V12, producing 630 hp and 1000 nm of torque!

Some of you might remember the old Yaris T-sport Turbo with 150 wild horses, and this is its successor! Toyota gave us the news in December, that they would make a hot version of their current Yaris, inspired by its rally brother. This rather angry looking thing is the result, and we are promised a power output of more than 210hp! In a car as small as a Yaris, that should make due for some serious fun! Further details will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, so let’s just hope it turns out to be as awesome as it looks!

For those of you who have paid a little bit of attention to the car market over the years, you might remeber that Suzuki had a small, rather boring SUV-ish car called Ignis in their fleet a few years ago. It wasn’t really a car for petrolheads, but now they’ve come up with a new one, and it looks bloody brilliant!

The liftback might be a car configuration you’ve never even heard of. What it basically is is a 3 or 5 door coupé, or a hatchback with a sloping rear end and a big boot lid. Actually just check out the picture of the BMW 3-Series GT and you will get the idea. Anyway! From where I’m standing this style was pretty popular back in the 80s and 90s with cars like the Mazda 626, Ford Sierra and later Mondeo, Toyota Carina, Honda Accord, Opel Vectra etc, but also more sporty cars like the Toyota Celica, Audi Quattro, Mazda RX7 and Porsche 928/924 etc.

The BMW E46 Compact is a small BMW, based on the E46 3-series. It’s predecessor, the E36 Compact was a pretty big success as it was also sold in the USA. This new one though, was supposed to be more refined and comfortable compared to the old one. The car was only produced for 4 years from 2000-2004, when it was replaced by the 1-series. It never really caught on, and has been the laughing stock for BMW-fans for years.

It’s my first car ever. She’s called Susie and I absolutely love her! She might not be the biggest brute or the best-looking car in the world, but she has a damn lot of character and feels special and that’s what matters most to me. Like James May would say: She gives me the fizz! On the performance side, she’s got a 1.8 litre petrol engine producing 115 wild horses at 5500 rpm and 175 nm of torque. I mean she isn’t actually a race car, but she really does shift along nicely. If anyone would happen to wonder, the colour is Velvet Blue, which is a part of BMW’s Individual Program.
