Hi, The question I’m posing is aimed more towards the tuners and engine builders who have experience fiddling with what makes a car run, and what suddenly earns you a window into your crankcase.

Hi, I know this is a E39 community and I’m asking about a M3 engine, but I’ve got this frankenstein idea that that hinges upon too many things at once to really be feasible to pull off. I want to turn the M54 engine into a budget S54! (give or take ~48cc of displacement) So, this whole mad scientist idea came from the fact that I wanted to take a head off a S54 and put it on the M54, but then I read about differences and powertrain/drivetrain limitations.

On this week of “What will break on my car?” We have the heated seats. I’ll press the button, but it will turn itself off after some time or immediately. There’s no pattern to it from what I’ve noticed, just random. I’m going to a store to get a fuse later unless anybody’s had this issue before and knows what’s up.
