Weird car fact of the day: Toyota and GM joined together in the 90’s and created the Toyota Cavalier TRD. This special edition Cavalier came with a host of ‘goodies’ that includes but not limited to widers fenders and an available supercharger paired with GM’s 2.4 ECOTEC engine. Not common at all, but they are out there.

This article was in relation to the 1986 Pontiac Fiero “Porsche Eater”, which was redesigned with a Pontiac racing suspension, a brand new 2.9 aluminum block V6 with an intercooler mounted in the rear. The gentleman responsible for the built was named Tim Petersen, who said the project was a great one. They were able to test the limitations of the engine on the Fiero, and we’re able to make significant gains. Obviously, this didn’t go well with the authorities in GM’s upper level.

Consider this: the 1989 Corvette had 245 Horsepower V8 and would have weighed 600 lbs more than the 200 horsepower DOHC V6 1989 Fiero. The Fiero would have more than likely at least matched the Corvette’s performance at less than half the price. Even though sales for the 1988 model year were set at 26,401, the sales would eventually rebound, due to a $30 million dollar investment for the new suspension which corrected all problems the 1984-1987 models had and offered the new design for the 1988 and 1989/1990 model.

“The beauty of the space frame concept is that it’s particularly strong in the places it needs to be, with excess weight being eliminated from the total structure.

Asking price is too high, though. Sitting at $8000 Canadian dollars. It’s a 1988 Yellow Fiero Formula with factory ordered T Tops and a Getrag 282 5 speed. 1 of about 30 Yellow formulas I believe.

Hi there! This will be a list of 5 things Pontiac Fiero’s are famous for. Here we go! Ford GT40 For when you can’t afford the real GT40 and want to impress that soccer mom with those three snotty kids who bite and naw at every person and thing they see. But remember, you’re there for her . I was talking about the car.

Regarded as the “Porsche Eater” of its time, this 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT featured a 2.9L aluminum turbocharged V6 engine that had a fully functioning intercooler located within its wing! This Prototype model also featured the suspension that Pontiac initially wanted for the Fiero and was later offered in 1988. There are rumours about the suspension being designed by Lotus, but that is false .

L67 3800 Series II V6 240HP 300TQ On a Fiero, this powerband will lift the front tires off the ground and achieve a mid 12 second mark on the 1/4 mile. On a ‘88 GT chassis, this engine swap will double the value of the car itself.

This awesome Fiero belongs to Jayson from Edmonton, AB: 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT 3.4L DOHC GM Crate 282 5 Spd Muncie Getrag 17’ MSR’s on Falken tires Ferrari 355 front end (TBH, it suits the car well. It isn’t a wacko body kit Testarossa—it’s a Fiero!) This set up is one of the most desired, due to the powerful 3.4L DOHC and 5 Spd set up. Handles better than modern sports cars , sounds even better.

New engine: 200+ hp DOHC V-6 for the GT models. Even a 231 CID (3.8 L) Buick Turbo V6 powered Fiero is rumored to have been seen at a test track. sigh …Stupid GM.
