20 + the age of dumbledore Thats what id consider a fast car
Depends. I’ll give you an example. The Suzuki Swift Sport comes with 134BHP. Some may laugh at that but I’ve seen them out there on the track destroy much more powerful cars. With a good driver they are still very fast. Another example would be my bosses westfield. It has an Astra VXR engine which is good for 200BHP but at around 520kg it’s almost too powerful for your average driver to control. I mean seriously the 150BHP westies are a handful for the uninitiated. Compare that to my 250bhp Focus ST daily and I’m often wanting a bit more out of it. BHP is not the figure to pay attention to.
I feel you will lose the exciting sensation of speed in any car you buy eventually or at least get frustrated with that Westfield for example because you would never be able to put it down
Our friend has one of them with a Ford Cozy lump in there 400hp 😂
Astra vxr engine good for 200bhp?
You are aware that the z20leh (which is the 2.0 turbocharged 4 pot engine in the vxr) is 240bhp as standard right? The injectors and Pistons (not the rods) are also good for around 350bhp…
The Astra engine that runs around 200bhp is the z20let, (197bhp out of the factory and the prototype engine for the vxr) and is found the in the Astra G gsi model.
a powerful car to me depends on the power to weight ratio. for instance i’d call a zenvo st1 powerful but as well a 300 hp caterham
400+ for me.
IT takes HP to weight ratio. Just BHP is a useless number.
depends on how much torque it delivers, one might not consider a 140Bhp diesel engine to be powerful until they look at the torque figures!

It’s more the torque that makes a car powerful.
Id say 250hp per ton is powerfull
More than an Honda.
