My step dad had a 1960 1000cc rover mini! It was British racing green and was the checkmate limited edition. He picked it up for about £2200 in mint condition and it was bone stock. The mod list was short but we put a K&N cone filter, a play mini exhaust and mini light alloys with stretched falken tyres. It wasn’t fast but it stuck to the road very well so corners where no issue. He sold it just after Christmas because it became a money pit. (The head gasket kept on breaking!) but now he has a mk4 golf gti with an r32 golf back bumper and exhaust. That is very fast! (230bhp)

Mk5 fiesta 1.25. It had a clutch that constantly slipped. A hand brake that wouldn’t catch and brakes that rarely worked. It was so much fun to go flat out everywhere because speed was something you could only dream of

2010 Mercury Grand Marquis. It might have a decent amount of power and torque but very much the slowest I’ve driven and yet I never feel it as a drag when I’m behind the wheel. It’s a boat on wheels with a little class and a whole lot of Grandpa status.

Mercedes W123 200 Diesel … drove 100000km … never had this feel of solid quality since. Not even my Toyota Landcruiser had it.

My first car, a Saturn s series. It was a pile of crap. But I loved the hell out of it
