What are the coolest cars that were only available in limited markets? This BMW E30 320is was only sold in Italy and Portugal...

It had a 1990cc version of the E30 M3 S14 engine to take advantage of the tax breaks for sub-2.0-litre engines in those countries. It also got the M3’s close ratio Getrag gearbox, but the rest was pretty much standard 3-series. Still, it’s sort of a slightly detuned M3, and that’s cool!

Then there’s the Volkswagen SP2 which was only available in Brazil, as well as countless special editions you’ll find in Japan.

Got any more suggestions for cool cars that were only found in one (or very few) markets? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll share the best.

I thought I’d mention this one just because I thought it was funny, the 1960 Ford Frontenac. It was just a rebadged ford Falcon for the Canadian Market. What mainly separated it from the falcon was that Ford replaced all the logos on the car with Maple Leafs (they put them on the grill, hub caps, steering wheel, etc). I’m going to go out and say its the most Canadian car ever made, even the advertisement sounds way too nice.

In Canada we had a car called the Bricklin SV-1. It only sold in Canada and the US and less than 3000 were made. It’s the only car in history to have factory powered Gullwing doors. It showed what Canadians can do but unfortunately the company went into receivership in the mid 70’s.
