What car completely changed your perceptions of something?

For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at.

For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at. But then the Z/28 came along and even the most biased European had to sit up and take notice. And it even looks stunning, too.

We want to know what car completely changed your opinion about something. Perhaps it was an electric car that converted you from ICE, a manual that made you realise sometimes auto is the answer, or perhaps a manufacturer you hated made something epic. Let us know in the comments and we’ll share the best!

For me it was when I saw the Gt500 my dad later owned in the worlds Greatest Drag Race 2…I couldn’t believe it could hold a candle to the 12c,Aventador and GT-R…That car made me a Mustang guy

Not a massive deal but the audi s3 i thought was one that changed my thoughts on cars. Just for the fact there is a manual and the triptronic gearbox and i thought the triptronic was cooler for some reason? As much as id like a manual it made me thing that actually paddles are really cool

For me it’s the BMW i8. I wasn’t hyped as much as everyone else about the car. Much like Jeremy, I can’t see it as anything other than a glorified Toyota Prius.

Nevertheless, this car proved that hybrids can’t always be uninteresting. It will always be remembered as that next to the holy trinity.

For me, I always thought that the E46 M3 was a bit naff and limp-wristed . After having driven one, though, I was blown away by how amazing it was to drive in terms of get up and go and fun.

The opposite can be said for the E30 M3 - I thought that would be a hooligan, but it was slow, felt boring and didn’t excite me any more than my old 325i E30 coupe. #shotsfired

E46 M3 race car. I used to be a turbo guy, especially since my first race car was a 700 hp Impreza. But that N/A feel is just unbelievable.

Range Rover Evoque, that thing made us realise that you have to stretch Diskloks to fit… Forever we learnt that not all steering wheels are the same!

The Supra is one of the cars that made me take notice of JDM, late last year was when I got into it. It completely changed my mind about what you could do to a car. It made me look at ordinary cars and think about what it could be, about what it could do with proper tuning and care; it made look past the Paganis and Porsches, it taught me that a racecar can be built and not bought.
