What scares you most about the car world in 20 years' time? For me, it's the possibility that my MX-5 might be illegal to drive by then :/

That the “car guy” will actually become a dying breed. No manuals, no petrol, computers. Driving will go back to the basic definition of what the word means. Ironic considering it means so much more.

I didn’t realize the amount of ignorance here was this high. Good lord. Have any of you taken an economics class? Do you not realize the things that would have to be put in place in order to ban ICEs? I urge all of you to take a basic level economics class before commenting.

That a car being a manual will mean you drive it yourself not a stick shift

Why would anyone be worried about the combustion engine going away? I mean if electric cars were faster wouldn’t you want that? Electric cars that would really preform would mean flat torque curves, no need for shifting, and insane acceleration. I would be down for that. Its not like 20 years would mean every ICE would disappear. I think the scariest thing would be self driving cars without the option of manual override. I would love for some of these idiots on the road to have the computer driving for them. Traffic would be much more efficient.
