People in this future drove big, heavy air-cars that could survive crashes at speeds of up to 40mph unscathed. The song is about a kid who sneaks up to his uncle’s farm every week to drive his uncle’s old red Barchetta, and subsequently has to evade a pair of these aircars who try to run him off the road. It’s a fantastic song, possibly the best driving song ever, but it’s scary how close we are to this kind of a future, at least in the USA.
Whats scares is that petrol will be illegal and they will send special forces to hunt down our cars and crush them or recycle them to make electric cars that they will make a law forcing us to buy them. Also making those cars self driven which will make the manual extinct. Turbos, superchargers, as well as other car parts and tuning will be taken away and illegal to put on. And im my mind worst of all new generations of teens will never get to experience our passion of cars and will only hear the stories like group b, touge, car meets, drift events, etc.
I’m afraid driverless cars might try to be forced on us.
Clogged up automatic driven roads without human interaction.
Here in Paris pre 1997 cars will be forbidden the 1st of this July. And it will be adjusted each year.
So I’m afraid that in the whole France, in a few years, it’ll be the same in all cities.
My s2000 is a year 2000 model so the risk is there, not far. (But I never use it in Paris)

All I’m worried about it availability of gasoline. The rest of the world can embrace their self-driving electric cars n junk. I want to be one of the few people with a special license to operate a fully manual controlled vehicle (like the anime “ex-Driver”).
