10 Things We All Secretly Do When Playing Racing Games
I mean, we’ve all done that before, right? Lag is the perfect excuse if something goes wrong. It can, quite literally, cover up all of your mistakes. But the key is to not use it as an excuse too often, otherwise you’ll be found out. Not that I know that myself, I heard it from a friend…
2. Purposely crash someone off who’s annoying you
There’s sometimes that person in online lobbies who really gets on your nerves, whether they’re talking WAY too loudly in their microphone, they forced you wide earlier in the race or constantly blocking you. Sometimes, revenge is the only option. And of course, you can always blame it on the lag afterwards.
“I didn’t even touch you on my screen.”
3. Cut the corner, but claim it’s lag
Occasionally we may get a bit too eager when turning into a corner and cut it a little bit. Sometimes we’ll get away with it, other times, maybe not. And if your friend manages to spot it, you can always say you “didn’t see it” on your screen.
4. Brag about your lap time but leave out the assists you used
No one has to know if you had the racing line on, or have traction control on the medium setting. That’s not important. What is important, though, is the fact you beat their lap times. That’s all that matters.
5. Say you scored a better result than you actually did
Ninth place doesn’t sound that great, but top eight makes it seem a little more successful, right? We’ve all lied about our finishing result once…or maybe that’s just me.
6. Rage quit
We get properly invested in these racing games, so when it doesn’t go your way, you’ll probably get a bit annoyed. And if it keeps on happening, chances are you’ll either quit, or throw your controller out of the window. One or the other.
7. Use a cheat code
We’ve all had a little browse around to see what can make our lives easier when it comes to gaming. Some racing games won’t have cheat codes, but others certainly do…
8. Research the easiest way to complete the game
It doesn’t take long to track down tips and tricks for racing games. I mean, I’ve heard it doesn’t take long. I wouldn’t know, of course.
Some laps are good. Some laps are bad. And others are only good because there were a few cheeky corner cuts involved.
If it’s the difference between winning and losing, it’s a risk you are willing to take.

11 Set difficulty to minimum and brag about hwo good you are
Amen to that.
And then blame it on lag when you get blown away online.
I should have this as a checklist next time I play Forza.
ABC’s tonight? Kappa
back then when i had a ps3 with gran turismo 6, I drove a zonda r the wrong way around the daytona speedway and get the amount of laps to like 99
Pfft. I haven’t done any of these once in video games.
Except the rage quits. I always rage quit.
You always lie about your score by the sound of this coment lol
Well, if you’d use some of these you would rage quit less often XD
Assists!? What is this? Baby’s first time-attack?
i’ve never used any assists except auto clutch because no wheel :(

Im a pretty much all rounded racing gamer if I say so myself!
Same
Back in the day WE raced
It was better than this
The moment when you play a rally game and hit these little walls of dirt/snow at the side of the road and flip your car lol
Happens all the time. Once me and my friend were driving one next to other, I hit the wall and flyed over my friend doing triple barrel roll and landed to win the race. :D
Dirt Rally… I now know the fastest way to restart a race thanks to the Finland Rally stages…
Dirt 3 approves.
One time I hit one of them and landed a backflip and carried on it was so cool
It just happened to me yesterday XD
when a game does something unrealistic which slows you down so you feel its acceptable to cut the next corner to compensate
It’s only fair, right?
