10 Ways You Know You’re A Racing Gamer
For some people, being a racing gamer is a hobby, a means to escape the harsh realities of life, or simply just a bit of fun. For others, however, being a racing gamer means far more than that. See how many characteristics of a racing gamer fit you, to know how badly you’ve got the gaming bug…
1. You're outraged by unrealistic physics, but you continue to take advantage of it
Whether it’s smashing into other cars or bouncing off the rails virtually untouched, some games just don’t have the good physics you crave. But that doesn’t stop you. No, you use these lenient phenomena to your advantage.
2. You have regular dreams where you're racing in a game
Sometimes those dreams feel so real, don’t they? If you’ve spent countless hours going through the same turns again and again, there is a pretty good chance you’ve had a gaming dream.
3. You hold a cherished spot on a global leader board
What an accomplishment. If you’ve made it this far, you deserve mad respect.
4. The seat of your sim is nicer than that of your car's
Sometimes we spoil the things we love, and neglect those we don’t. We know where your priorities lie.
5. You have multiple driving games on your phone and tablet to get your fix on the go
You don’t have a racing app because your friends do or because you think it’s cool. The only reason you have it is because you can never get enough racing action. Ever.
6. Your roommates know what this means
Pedal-pounding, shifting gears and slamming the wheel can get loud. Your rommates totally understand that you’re to be left alone.
7. You've used work as an excuse to buy a better monitor, but you really wanted it for gaming
There is nothing wrong with having a multiuse monitor and claiming its use for school or work is just brilliant.
8. You have completely unnecessary parts on your simulator to make it 'better'
A dash, roll cage or helmet just adds to the experience. Bring it on.
9. When you see a track outline you can identify it and know your fastest lap time
When you see your favourite track, or really any track, you know right away. To a racing game addict, even the clouds in the sky start shaping into track outlines.
10. There is at least one racing game in which you’ve earned every car and every mod available without cheats
Every once in a while a racing game comes along that you are so hopelessly addicted to that you play it until you earn everything. Paintjobs, upgrades, new cars…you name it, you got it.
