This 10,000rpm, 246bhp MkII VW Polo Is An Unhinged Hill Climb Star
We love hill climbs for the variety of metal you see at them. All sorts of modified bundles of fun turn up, and we certainly wouldn’t complain if this furious little animal was present.
This stripped-out 1.6-litre Polo has had some serious money spent on it. Capable of 10,000rpm courtesy of some very strong engine internals, it’s a screamer that apparently won its class with its current owner at the first time of asking. A full interior strip-down means it tips the scales at just 730kg.
The front wheels have to deal with about 246bhp, according to the YouTube channel HillClimb Monsters, but a six-speed sequential gearbox helps get the power down in a suitably angry fashion. Sit back and listen to it attack this course with all the ferocity of a wounded bull. Just a very small one.
