This is it, it’s finally here: the track day nutter version of the LaFerrari. Dubbed the FXX K, it’s packing a mad 1021bhp - the combined figure churned out by its V12 engine and electric motor. That’s a 71bhp boost over the regular LaFerrari, giving it enough power to dwarf the outputs of previous track-only Fezzas; the Enzo-based FXX develops 848bhp, while the 599XX manages a comparatively paltry 720bhp.

It’s grown a little compared to its road-going counterpart, being 194mm longer and 59mm wider. With the ditching of many of the hypercar’s luxuries, it’ll be lighter, too, and perhaps most importantly, it’s rocking a set of super sticky Pirelli P-Zero slick tyres.

It’s also had an aerodynamic makeover, with the addition of a meatier front splitter, larger sills, an almost comically large rear diffuser, and two intriguing spoiler prongs protruding from the back. All this clobber helps boost downforce by 50 per cent. Not bad

Like previous XX Ferraris and the new McLaren P1 GTR, this won’t be something you can purchase and sling into your mansion’s garage. Once buyers lay down their hard-earned cash (no official price just yet, but expect the LaFerrari’s £1.15 million premium to be upped by some margin), they’ll be enrolled onto a driver development programme. Ferrari will keep hold of the cars, and bring them to exclusive circuit events throughout each year.
