The 2015 WRX STI Wouldn't Have Looked Right Without This Massive Rear Wing

Just a couple of days after Subaru announced that its new WRX STI model will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, images of the final design have leaked online.

We got to see the WRX last November, and we weren't too impressed. It had lost the concept's aggressive styling and angular lines, favouring soft curves and a bland backside. It started to grow on us, but the STI is a looker straight out of the box.

First and foremost: blue paint and gold wheels. It just looks right. The front splitter appears slightly more prominent and there are sharper creases on the bonnet , but the big talking point is that massive rear wing. The wheels still look a little lost in the arches, however.

Performance is expected to come from a turbocharged 2.5-litre boxer-four making 300bhp and 290lb/ft torque. All will be officially revealed at the Detroit Auto Show next week.
