The 201mph V12 Vantage S Roadster Is The Fastest Aston Martin Drop-Top Ever
Aston Martin’s convertible version of its awesome V12 Vantage S sports car is the fastest drop-top in its history. Aside from the minor fact it’s missing the roof, it shares almost everything else with the coupe, including a massive 6.0-litre V12 with 565bhp. With a top speed of 201mph and a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.1sec, the convertible’s time is only just shy of the coupe’s 3.9sec figure. Torque is also rather impressive; 457lb ft is available from 5750rpm, with 376lb ft available from just 1000rpm.
Power is laid down through a Sportshift seven-speed automated manual gearbox, which gives near-seamless gear changes and is derived from the kit used in Aston’s GT racing cars.
There’s also a new lightweight exhaust system, derived from the One-77 hypercar, and a Sport mode which makes the most of the fact that you’re now closer to the car’s V12 symphony.
Pricing has not yet been revealed, but £150,000 is a conservative estimate.
