This 227bhp Tata 'Super' Nano Is All Kinds Of Crazy
It’s hard to imagine the tall, thin and ludicrously slow Tata Nano budget-mobile spawning anything remotely sporty. At least, it was, until an Indian firm called J A Motorsport came along and created this pint-sized piece of motoring lunacy: the Tata Super Nano.
Creating a much more powerful version of a car that tends to fold like paper when you crash it is a perhaps a scary prospect, but we doubt there’s much left of the original chassis underneath. And that’s a good thing.
The Nano’s asthmatic 600cc twin-cylinder engine has been whipped out, replaced with a much more potent 1.3-litre unit chucking out 227bhp to the rear wheels. It should be pretty good at putting that power down, too, as the rear boots - along with the front - are now racing slicks. J A has also added a roll cage, massively increased the track and bolted on AP racing brakes.
Is this the sort of madness you like the sound of? Unfortunately, this is just a one-off. Shame.
