3 Classic Indy 500 Cars Join Modern IndyCar Machinery In Project Cars 2
As well as being able to drive the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway in current IndyCar machines, Project Cars 2 players will also have some historic cars available to drive.
The 101st running of the Indy 500 takes place on the 28 May and ahead of the famous race, Project Cars 2 has announced some cool new details about the up-coming game.
We already knew the current Dallara DW12 raced in IndyCar this year will be included in PC2, and we got the chance to try it at a recent preview event.
But now, it’s been revealed that three classic Indy 500 cars will also be available to drive in the game – which is pretty cool news.
Riding in the current Indy 500 hype (mainly thanks to some bloke called Fernando), one of the cars will be the Lotus 38 raced by the legendary Jim Clark to his one and only Indy 500 win in 1965.
The green and yellow beauty is joined by Parnelli Jones’ Watson-Offy ‘Ol’ Calhoun roadster, which he controversially won the 1963 Indy 500 behind the wheel of.
Joe Leonard’s incredibly innovative Lotus 56 turbine car from the 1968 Indy 500, which he almost won before retiring painfully close to the finish, is also in the game.
PC2 looks at the hugely competitive Indy 500 era in the 1960s and the cars that will appear in the game in great depth in the announcement post, which can be seen here.
There’s still no firm release date, but we know the game is coming late in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Late 2017? Cough Cough GT SPORT!
Assuming GT Sport comes out this year…
Not classic, but still needed!
Don’t worry, it’s just like the other Hondas. It’s literally the exact same car, just a different paintjob, kinda like NASCAR.
Funnily, it was just released that the entire 2016 Indycar lineup will be included.
can this game run on my gtr ?
Yeah, very classic. But what about classic and CRAZY?
I’m not a Penske fan but…
