The 364bhp BMW M2 Will Set You Back $50k In The US
It’s difficult to adequately convey just how much we want a BMW M2 right now. After all, it’s an amped-up version of the M235i - one of our favourite new BMWs - and, well, just look at it. In the UK we’ve known since the car’s reveal in October just how far off being able to afford one we are (it’s £44,070 here, so quite far for most of us…), but we haven’t known the US price until now. With BMW dropping the news in Detroit today, we can now reveal that it’ll be $51,700 plus destination and handling fees when it goes on sale this April.
Meanwhile, it’s been announced that the X4 M40i - which uses a slightly less powerful version of the M2’s N55 turbocharged straight-six - is $57,800, and is available next month. I know which one I’d rather.
As a reminder, the M2’s 3.0-litre engine kicks out 364bhp and 343 lb ft, enough for a 4.5-second 0-62mph sprint, or 4.3sec if you spec the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and switch on the launch control. Top speed is 155mph, or 168mph with the M Driver’s Package option ticked.

i wonder if this means 1M prices will drop and i’ll finally be able to afford one…. in 10 years…
In Ireland it will cost even more, no wonder modern sports cars are not seen regularly here!!
You cant even buy a 2013 BMW 520D for that money in Denmark…
Seriously want this car, not sure if a m235i will upgrade though. Will have to drive one.
That one time a Bimmer actually is not overpriced. Don’t forget this thing basically has no options
I hope they make an M2 GTS :D
