A German insurance company seems to have revealed power outputs for both the base A45 and a range-topping A45 S
415bhp Mercedes-AMG A45 S Accidentally Revealed By Insurance Company

We’ve been pretty sure for a while that the Mercedes-AMG A45 will have a power output in excess of 400bhp, and thanks to a German insurance company, this has been as good as confirmed. But there’s a caveat: only the range-topping ‘S’ model will have a figure starting with a number 4.

Yep, there’ll be an AMG A45 and an AMG A45 S. Insurer Huk 24 has prematurely listed both on its site, as picked up by Motor 1. An output of 421hp (415bhp) is given for the S, while the entry-level version is marked down as 387hp (382bhp).

Both the new Mercedes-AMG A45 and A45 S appear in drop-down menus on Huck24's website

It’s unclear at this stage what the spec differences will be between the two cars, but Mercedes may - as is the case with the E63 and E63 S - only offer the confirmed Drift Mode in the S. Judging by the drifty footage released by Mercedes just before Christmas, you’re probably going to want that feature available on your A45.

We still don’t know when we’ll first see the A45 sans-camouflage, but a Geneva Motor Show reveal seems likely. Its A35 baby brother, meanwhile, made its debut at the Paris Motor Show October last year, before being launched the following month.

If that’s the case, then it’ll likely be the most powerful specific output of any non hybrid car in existence I think

higher than Chiron, Senna, Ford GT and on par with Koenigseggs

I wonder how reliable will it be

hmmm… so non electric motor? Petrol engine only? 2l and 420hp? Usually that would lead to huge turbo with
significant lag an unusable low rpms (somethig like evo fq)I hope they introduce some smart anti-lag system.
