5 Reasons Why your First Car should be a Motorcycle

First off all please take this article with a grain of salt. Which means know that I am fully aware of the dangers of motorcycle riding and how a small bump
which might slightly dent a car can put a motorcycle rider in hospital. But speaking from personal experience I regret not getting a motorcycle license sooner.
I am assuming most first car/bike owners are in their teens to mid twenties. This whole article wont work for most older ages for obvious reasons.

Practicality

First and foremost practicality , Bikes require zero to no parking space , most new bikes are pretty reliable, and are much easier to maintain
I daily drive a ‘77 Bug but more and more I feel like its a waste. As its always empty , I rarely carry passengers and most journeys are me, myself and I.
Going back to the parking point , I can only seethe in loathing at bikers who pull into a parking space and even leave before I am done parallel parking my car.

I wouldn't mind that.
I wouldn't mind that.

Gas Mileage.

This is a biggie , it is a well known fact that bikes get crazy gas mileage, so as student on a feeble and scarce budget its perfect. My bug uses around 25 liters
petrol a week , and if I didn’t get gas money from my parents trying not to sound like a spoiled brat I probably wont be driving this. Traffic cuts down mileage like
Deadpool cuts down bad guys sorry just watched the movie and bikes don’t have wait in traffic they can just zoom through it.

I visit the petrol station so much , I know the attendants by name.

Safety

With bikes this is always a touchy subject, I know from personal experience that bikers are one of the safest people on the road. you do get on or two hooligans who
go around doing public burnouts and wheelies who bring a bad name for all bikers
. But most car crashes are caused by young people driving too fast and not being able to stop in time.
In cars you do get this sense of invincibility (I’m guilty , I know you are too). In bikes its the complete opposite you are exposed to the elements
and not able to do anything else except focus on the road ahead.

Price and Beauty

Most bikes are fairly cheap and also more reliable as they are more modern to the car you can buy with a similar amount of money.Lets face it , most First cars are pretty dull (unless you go for a classic). But even the most low powered 250cc bikes look insanely aesthetic and eye-catching.

So thats that then , I hope that helps a few of you decide. So what would you pick?

if you get a dirt bike they are geared for acceleration so even a 125 can be amazing fun.

My pride and joy. 2-smoker 50cc. I know it’s just a 50cc but that all I can get at the age of 15, and it is quite fast! :)

If your first car was going to be a motorcycle, surely it would not be your first CAR

Well, i have a Bike for one and a half, Car license but no car for half a year now.
I can say my Suzuki GN 125 is the most unpractical thing ever. You don’t have storage space and have to take your helmet and jacket with you al the time. But hell it’s fast. It get’s off as fast as a modern duke or MT 125 easily, because back then vehicles were way lighter. And it doesn’t have a cat because, well, they don’t care. Which is nice. Only thing that buggers me is that a motorcycle is 10 times more expensive to ensure than a scooter (equal 125) in Germany.

You forgot for under 7.5KUSD used(liter bikes such as the R1) you’re slaying a good number of Sport Cars and some super cars… And here in Texas there’s no engine resections other than 250cc when you’re 15, and that automatically goes away once you turn 16.
