6 (Somewhat True) Reasons Why I Think GTA V's Supercars Are Overrated #blogpost
Now, I have nothing against supercars. I like them a lot. But this is to get this off my chest, because I’ve had a number of people coming up to me and saying that supercars in GTA V are the best. They really aren’t. Here’s why:
Now, I have nothing against supercars. I like them a lot. But this is to get this off my chest, because I’ve had a number of people coming up to me and saying that supercars in GTA V are the best. They really aren’t. Here’s why:
1. They're worthless in some way
The problem with the world of supercars in GTA V is the fact that people think you can have more fun in them. You can have fun in a supercar, difference is that you aren’t having more fun, in let’s say, a Panto. The Panto, in a race, makes it more drop dead fun when you take a corner, and drift it round. For $85,000 in GTA Online, it is really good value compared to, the Adder, which costs $1,000,000. Granted, the Panto isn’t as fast as the Adder, but you can have more fun in a Panto - which makes the Adder seem worthless. (as some evidence in that table)
2. So much more controllable
I still play GTA V on my 360, (parents problems - not mine) and one thing I’m finding with supercars, is how easy I can slide them, but yet can’t get the car out of a slide without losing all my speed (probably my driving skill - controller wise, but still). Yet I find the cars of the “Sports” (before you ask, the Comet IS in the “sports” section) section make more sense round a corner, and I won’t have to fully worry about ending up spinning out, or into a wall. Like I said, although some aren’t as fast as a supercar, but they are better at handling and in some ways, acceleration. (this is evident in another chart)
3. You can spend more to rival a supercar
I know this is the part where it gets (quite) ridiculous, but bear with me. You can buy a Rapid GT hardtop at $132,000 (which I think can keep up with the entry level supercars) and upgrade the wooden brakes but powerful engine to make it accelerate faster, and you could have spent (I haven’t tried Online yet) less than would you have bought more expensive cars (from the Vacca to the T20). But for the cost of it, you will slide more when you get to a mild turn. (because the handling is a bit soggy - it’s opinion) It is still more fun than a supercar in those races. (another chart!)
4. They are respected because "you can't enjoy any other car”
I’ve driven a few supercars, and whenever I find a chance at a winding road, I always feel better in a car designed to handle (sometimes, a Panto) because for some reason, I can’t seem to enjoy the road if I drive fast. It’s like an MX-5. It’s slow, but the whole point of it is to have fun in the corners. It’s exactly the same case with Sports or the Coupes and even Compacts class. Sure, I’d enjoy the engine notes on some of the cars (like the T20) but there’s no point with driving a grippy supercar doing 80+ on a country road with loads of corners, is there? (no table here)
5. Kids who play GTA V will literally chose them because "they're the best”
Before you say anything, I’m 15 and I am aware that this game is violent. That’s why I only drive. Yet I think some kids who were younger than me (I heard someone was 8 playing GTA V - not confirmed :P) who got GTA V have only supercars in their garages. Do I? Nope. Sure, I have have a stock Cheetah and Entity XF in Michael’s garage, and the stock Vacca from “The Wrap Up”, but that’s about it. Other than that, all my other cars are unique (as in license plate or sometimes paint scheme) or cars that I have modified and tuned and stored in my garages.
6. Racing Online
According to gameranx, a majority of the races in GTA V Online have supercars in them. Thing is, whenever you have a go at doing it, 2 things will probably happen. Either you win it bored, or people in supercars keep crashing into you. This seems like it’s no big deal to some of us, but could we have an actual race with cars that people can absolutely control? Also, am I the only one who would prefer a small city car (Issi) than to an Zentorno? Sure, having a supercar isn’t as glamorous, but I’d much rather race with more fun and control, thank you very much.

I think the fastest compact is the blista
Oh God…
Please tell me I’m reading this wrong.
I like sedan racing but every race is super
Especially using that Kuruma.
Sports = Schafter V12
Sedan = Schafter V12 Armored
Same performance, different class. Faster than most, if not all Supers.
I like sports car races because I use my JDM cars or other car I dont like supercar races
Ehhh it’s just GTA 😐
i don’t have any supercars, i mostly buy classic or muscle cars
Anything from luxury autos costs around $250-300k for all your upgrades including engines and turbos
So your rapid GT would be around just under $400k
Still one of the best cars tho imo
I’m saying what I WOULD upgrade.
Once again Verlierer FTW and my Stinger GT is absolutely stunning.
And in order to cope with no 6 I always host my own race
Like always. (I haven’t got stats for the Verlierer yet)
Nice post add me for some fun in gta v @elbbs24
I don’t have online. Sadly.
I like having a bit of everything; my Turismo R has its uses, but I mostly use the Kuruma or Granger for missions and stuff.
My fav GTA V car is the Sultan
Probably because racecar.
