6 (Somewhat True) Reasons Why I Think GTA V's Supercars Are Overrated #blogpost

Now, I have nothing against supercars. I like them a lot. But this is to get this off my chest, because I’ve had a number of people coming up to me and saying that supercars in GTA V are the best. They really aren’t. Here’s why:

Now, I have nothing against supercars. I like them a lot. But this is to get this off my chest, because I’ve had a number of people coming up to me and saying that supercars in GTA V are the best. They really aren’t. Here’s why:

1. They're worthless in some way

You can have fun in a supercar, but sports cars and cars that handle well are better
You can have fun in a supercar, but sports cars and cars that handle well…

The problem with the world of supercars in GTA V is the fact that people think you can have more fun in them. You can have fun in a supercar, difference is that you aren’t having more fun, in let’s say, a Panto. The Panto, in a race, makes it more drop dead fun when you take a corner, and drift it round. For $85,000 in GTA Online, it is really good value compared to, the Adder, which costs $1,000,000. Granted, the Panto isn’t as fast as the Adder, but you can have more fun in a Panto - which makes the Adder seem worthless. (as some evidence in that table)

2. So much more controllable

I'd rather have a Comet over a Bullet - because I can control it more (and excuse the forgotten close quote)
I'd rather have a Comet over a Bullet - because I can control it more (and…

I still play GTA V on my 360, (parents problems - not mine) and one thing I’m finding with supercars, is how easy I can slide them, but yet can’t get the car out of a slide without losing all my speed (probably my driving skill - controller wise, but still). Yet I find the cars of the “Sports” (before you ask, the Comet IS in the “sports” section) section make more sense round a corner, and I won’t have to fully worry about ending up spinning out, or into a wall. Like I said, although some aren’t as fast as a supercar, but they are better at handling and in some ways, acceleration. (this is evident in another chart)

3. You can spend more to rival a supercar

True in so many ways
True in so many ways

I know this is the part where it gets (quite) ridiculous, but bear with me. You can buy a Rapid GT hardtop at $132,000 (which I think can keep up with the entry level supercars) and upgrade the wooden brakes but powerful engine to make it accelerate faster, and you could have spent (I haven’t tried Online yet) less than would you have bought more expensive cars (from the Vacca to the T20). But for the cost of it, you will slide more when you get to a mild turn. (because the handling is a bit soggy - it’s opinion) It is still more fun than a supercar in those races. (another chart!)

4. They are respected because "you can't enjoy any other car”

You can, but what you can't do is enjoy all of it
You can, but what you can't do is enjoy all of it

I’ve driven a few supercars, and whenever I find a chance at a winding road, I always feel better in a car designed to handle (sometimes, a Panto) because for some reason, I can’t seem to enjoy the road if I drive fast. It’s like an MX-5. It’s slow, but the whole point of it is to have fun in the corners. It’s exactly the same case with Sports or the Coupes and even Compacts class. Sure, I’d enjoy the engine notes on some of the cars (like the T20) but there’s no point with driving a grippy supercar doing 80+ on a country road with loads of corners, is there? (no table here)

5. Kids who play GTA V will literally chose them because "they're the best”

Depends on what you do to them - but majority shows that they look horrible
Depends on what you do to them - but majority shows that they look horrible

Before you say anything, I’m 15 and I am aware that this game is violent. That’s why I only drive. Yet I think some kids who were younger than me (I heard someone was 8 playing GTA V - not confirmed :P) who got GTA V have only supercars in their garages. Do I? Nope. Sure, I have have a stock Cheetah and Entity XF in Michael’s garage, and the stock Vacca from “The Wrap Up”, but that’s about it. Other than that, all my other cars are unique (as in license plate or sometimes paint scheme) or cars that I have modified and tuned and stored in my garages.

6. Racing Online

A majority of the races I've heard about are supercar related - which makes it worse
A majority of the races I've heard about are supercar related - which…

According to gameranx, a majority of the races in GTA V Online have supercars in them. Thing is, whenever you have a go at doing it, 2 things will probably happen. Either you win it bored, or people in supercars keep crashing into you. This seems like it’s no big deal to some of us, but could we have an actual race with cars that people can absolutely control? Also, am I the only one who would prefer a small city car (Issi) than to an Zentorno? Sure, having a supercar isn’t as glamorous, but I’d much rather race with more fun and control, thank you very much.

There you go. 6 somewhat true reasons why supercars are overrated. Any feedback, questions or opinions? If so, leave them in the comments!

Looking at this article, its clear that you don’t know what you’re talking about. If you want to be competitive in races, you should really watch Broughy1322 videos on YouTube, it shows all the best cars to have fully upgraded in each class. Off the top of my head it’s the following:

Supers: Zentorno, Osiris, T20 (but dont get the T20 on last gen, spoiler doesn’t work)
Sports: Elegy, Jester Racecar, Massacro Racecar & Feltzer
Sedans: Schafter V12 armoured obliterates everything (or go for the normal Schafter on last gen)
Sports Classics: Stirling GT only
Muscle: Dominator, Ruiner, Coquette BlackFin, Dukes
Compacts: Panto or Rhapsody depending on the track
Vans: Gang Burrito is OP
Utility: Sadler is only usable vehicle

You might also want to find a good racing crew that organises events, Nonchalant Dominance is active on all platforms, and some of the guys there, (not me mind) are very quick.

Also when hosting a lobby always turn catchup and slipstream off.

This is why I enjoy my modded version of GTA V on PC. I can literally make any car handle like I want. I spend the majority of the time in the game drifting my RTR widebody Mustang (the real one, not the Dominator) in the canyons. So much more fun to me, than sticking to vanilla version Online.

I like Supercars in gtav because they are fast af. But I don’t like to use ‘em all the time. I prefer to use SUVs and cars like Brawler. Because they can go everywhere and I enjoy it better than driving on the streets (because you can’t do a proper drift in GTA)

Well, you can. Just that you lose all your speed. Slightly disagree with the “supercar” bit though.

I like bikes in GTA. Most of them are fast, most of them have great handling and you can fit through smaller gaps in the traffic. Oh and also an armoured karuma for public sessions hehe :)

My small bro is 7 and he plays GTA V. He only mostly drives the Futo or the Intruder or the Warrener.

Try the Karin Futo…its an AE86 and is the best car for drifting in the games in my opinion
