7 Luxury Cars With Inappropriately Loud Exhausts
Many big luxury cars are blessed with massive engines packing many cylinders, only to have them hushed by a quiet exhaust system. Every now and then though, this is rectified with a little exhaust fiddling...
This is probably our favourite one here. To find out how the owner managed to make his wafty Merc sound like a Pagani Zonda, click here.
Kudos to Chris for submitting a video of his very own shouty luxury car!
This particular E39 runs a stock exhaust, but with a silencer bypass. Read more here.

This is a bit closer to my price range, I really want my own original model Infiniti Q45

Despite myself being a Lexus fanboy I really think the Q45, It’s a pretty good looking and performing car.
That volvo was a no. I look at that car and expect to hear an electric whine not a v8
These exhausts are not way too loud. I’d rather say they have their priorities sorted right
Why s8? RS7 is louder and has the same level of luxury
You wish. The RS7 is a coupe version of the A6, a whole tier down in terms of luxury. Also, that particular S8 has a V10, and with the proper exhaust it can sound truly menacing. I’m not a huge fan of the way the one in the video sounds, I like a more rumbly, low-pitched wail that the 5,2 V10 can produce.
Where are the American luxury cars? Cadillac CTS-V and the old luxury barges come to mind…

MY CAR GOT FEATURED! i’m fanyboying so hard right now, Thank you so much!
Where is the Quattroporte?
Of course they’re gonna be loud if you remove any silencers
That S600 with F1 Exhaust has to be the best sounding…
Audi s8!! Gallardo/R8 V10 engine
Indeed. The S8 is the only true “driver’s limo” we have left. The D2 S8 being the best in terms of that (4.2 V8 and a 6 speed manual with Quattro? Sign me up!), put a supercharger on that thing and you have a car that can give modern day supercars a run for their money whilst encompassing it’s driver in total luxury and comfort.
