7 Mods The Royal Baby Pram Is Likely To Have

The Duchess of Cambridge is officially in labour. But have the Royal Couple decided on a Royal Pram?
royal-baby-pram-featuredAs the world's press gathers outside St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, eagerly awaiting official updates from The Duchess' womb, us forward-thinkers at Car Throttle decided to plan ahead and offer up a present to Prince William and Kate to celebrate the birth of our future monarch. After many minutes creating a design brief, holding a parental focus group and using the magic wand tool in Photoshop, we came up with a pram concept likely to be praised by Clarence House and, more importantly, respected by motoring fans worldwide. Here is our creation, along with seven important features we think should be manufactured:kate-william-royal-baby-pram-2

1. Subaru Impreza Spoiler

Nobody wants to see the Royal Baby Pram lift off as it achieves heady downhill speeds on the Long Walk in Windsor (a walking spot famed for its royal clientele). That's why downforce is the ultimate name of the game. We carefully added a rear wing bodykit to the frame of Kate's Royal Baby Pram from a Subaru Impreza to make sure the rear wheels remain firmly on the ground. Speaking of which...

2. F1-compound Pirelli Tyres

There's no use having all that power if you can't put it down on the ground. At least, that's how the famous saying goes when applied to combustion engines. In the case of The Duchess of Cambridge or potentially her Royal Baby Walker, however, a solid pram requires a solid level of grip. That's why we've fitted Pirelli F1-spec tyres. Whether they'll degrade through their first week's use though remains to be seen.

3. RECARO Racing Seat

For over 100 years, RECARO has been synonymous with innovation and design. So it's no wonder we removed the comfortable cot from the pram and replaced it with this sturdy, well-bolstered seat, fit for any future King or Queen. With added four point harness, his or her Highness will be truly prepared for the mad dashes to escape those irksome paparazzi.

4. Twin Exhausts

A clever addition from our design house, we've fitted the Royal Racing Pram with twin exhausts connected to the lining underneath the RECARO seat. That means whenever Prince William's baby decides to release gas, it'll be efficiently channeled through the rear exhausts creating further thrust. These also act as excellent one-ups in the family pram-boasting wars.

5. Crown Basket

Ask any parent about their buggies or prams, and the number one pet peeve will be "lack of storage space". However, the Royal Couple should fear not, as Car Throttle's Royal Pram comes fitted with a Crown Basket, designed to hold the heaviest of gold crowns, even granny's St. Edward's jewels!

6. Kevlar Chassis

If the Presidential limo has bulletproof glass, then the Royal Racing Pram should have some form of structural protection. We've chosen to build the chassis and pram lining out of the para-aramid synthetic fibre known as Kevlar for that added peace of mind.

7. Silver Spoon Holder

Born into an extremely wealthy family, Kate's Royal Baby will be mocked by the lower classes as having "been born with a silver spoon in his or her mouth". So we decided to bring the expression to life with a tasteful silver spoon holder, perfect for those unplanned feeding sessions. And when the Royal Baby has finally outgrown the pram and is looking for something a little more zesty, may we point his or her Highness in the direction of our Royal Little Tikes Car?Royal Little Tikes car
