The 707hp Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Is The Fastest Saloon In The World
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is one of our favourite cars to be unveiled this year, with its 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 making a whopping 707hp. And now there’s a four-door option.
Unveiled online in an event hosted at the Vinsetta Garage on Woodward Avenue earlier today (you can re-watch it here, the Charger is a car that you “absolutely cannot build a business case for, but sometimes you need to stop listening to the focus groups. Sometimes you need to build a car that defines itself,” according to Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis.
The Charger is slightly less driver focused than the Challenger, as it only comes with an eight-speed auto.
Listen to the Charger Hellcat’s exhaust note.
That said, it’s still very fast. The Charger Hellcat will smash through 60mph from a standstill in 3.7sec, and will run a quarter mile in 11 seconds on street tyres. Keep your foot down and you’ll hit an incredible 204mph top speed.
In the face of econoboxes taking over the world, it’s awesome to see Dodge making something unashamedly muscular. We love it.
