8 Smells That Turn Every Petrolhead On
1. Towers of new tyres
Ever been struck by that amazing rubber smell when you walk into a tyre shop? You can sense that grip is in the air!
2. A nice spray of WD40
A whiff of WD40 in the air means you’re probably doing some maintenance or repairs on your ride. And who doesn’t like spending time with a loved one?
3. A clean car covered in wax
Wax on. Wax off. Or you can just leave it on a bit longer and give your smell receptors a treat.
4. Fresh leather seats
Leather seats are not only super comfortable, but they smell amazing too. Unless of course you’ve done a six-hour road trip without air conditioning…
5. New car interior
New car smell is actually caused by organic compounds de-gassing after production. Nevertheless, it’s awesome.
6. Burning rubber
Your lungs might disagree, but the smell of tyre smoke is a fine odour indeed.
7. Car part packaging
The smell of cardboard and bubble wrap is something us petrolheads associate with unboxing a fresh package of car parts, which is like Christmas. But better.
8. Petrol station
Last but certainly not least. Of course, deliberately sniffing petrol isn’t all that safe, but the scent of petrol lingering in the air can only mean that you’re filling your car up, ready to go for a drive. Bliss.
