AC Schnitzer Will Make Your BMW 5-Series Touring Less Subtle And More Powerful
If you want a subtly upgraded BMW, you should probably be looking at an Alpina. For something a little more outlandish? That’s AC Schnitzer’s territory. This is - after all - the company that stuffed an M4 engine into an M235i and tunes it to 562bhp, just to make a sort of showpiece.
As you’d expect, then, the company’s latest range of products for the new 5-series Touring are not for the shy and retiring. We have big side skirts, an angrier front bumper, a shiny quad exhaust and spangly, arch-filling 20-inch rims. But don’t worry, 19-inch items are available if that sounds a bit much. In total, eight wheel choices are set to be available.
There range of upgrades go further than skin deep, too. For starters, AC is offering a set of lowering springs to drop the front by 25mm, and the rear by 20mm. And if you fancy more poke, the tuner has that covered too.
Have a 530d? AC Schnitzer will give it an extra 50bhp, bringing the total to 311bhp. Or if you have a 540i, you can have its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six tickled from 335bhp to 395bhp.
Eventually, there’ll also be power upgrades for the 520d, 530i and even the M550i, not that the latter car is really wanting for power.

The first AC Schnitzer I actually want(!) claps slowly

400hp 5er estate? Noice!!
OH NOICE
I have an inexplicable love for performance wagons, I’d drive one without friends or family just for the coolness factor
I like it for the sleeper factor
Exactly! Nothing better than a car that goes fast AND can fit more than 4 beer crates!
Excellent ;)
Ahh, we’ll cruise together once right?😂
i always tell my friends that i love fast wagons and they think wagons are ugly. NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME
I’d have one just with the extra power please. I’d like it to stay subtle on the outside…
Car guys: MAKE AN M5 WAGON
BMW: Here is an i3 instead insert evil laughter here
Hmm😅😅 but from economics standpoint m5 wagon just doesn’t make much sense for the amount of market that it’s targeted at
Woooo! The tuning company based in my hometown (more or less) gets some appreciation :D
Btw matt its “their range of upgrades” not “there range of upgrades”
An M5 for people who don’t want to wait for the M5
Nothing for 520i? (not sure if it’s being sold for Germany and other European countries) Around 200-230 HP 1.6 engine it would be nice.
Waiting for the Alpina version
