This Amazing Rush Trailer Lego Parody Is The Best Thing You'll See Today
Excited to see Rush? The hollywood F1 film is out in the UK on September 13, and is based around the legendary rivalry between James Hunt and Nicki Lauda - two of Formula 1's greatest ever drivers.
We won't spoil it too much, but the pair were as fearsome as Senna and Prost, and way more interesting to watch lock horns than Vettel and... whoever Vettel is a lap ahead of. This was proper racing.
There have already been a number of official trailers for Rush, but if they've passed you by, this Lego parody can't possibly escape your attention.
It recreates in quite obsessive (though seriously impressive) detail every inch of one of the official trailers, using everyone's childhood favourite material. The original is below so you can compare them. The attention to detail is borderline OCD, with little flicks of helmet visors and licks of flames represented blockily in Lego. Our favourite bits are a scaled down version of Tyrrell's mega six-wheeler, and the sex scene at 1.05...
Unearthing such a novel take on the Rush preview unearths a whole sub-genre of YouTube clips. One of the most exhaustive is 'Brickfall', a Lego-fied version of the James Bond film Skyfall, while even Gangnam Style has been recreated in Lego. And it's a lot more natural than the awkward Gaz Gaz Style we uncovered a few months ago...
How long this lot took to put together doesn't bear thinking about, but they're certainly inspirational. Which famous car movie scene would you mostly like to see in bricks?
