Are You Still Watching The Grand Tour?
There have been some Grand Tour episodes I’ve not been too fond of thus far, but the two part Namibia special that’s just been on seemed like a high point. It felt just like ‘old times’, albeit with more budget and a little more swearing.
Clarkson, Hammond and May were at their witty best, the familiar chemistry backed up with some great action, truly epic cinematography and a dash of drama. But here’s the thing: I had to do a little catching up on the series to reach that point, as I’d fallen behind.
This perhaps shouldn’t be surprising: all series - whether they’re on a conventional TV channel or a streaming service - tend to have a decline in viewership after the first episode in a season, and it seems The Grand Tour isn’t immune. There are no viewing figures available from Amazon Prime, but certainly on CT we’ve noticed fewer people talking about the show, and a diminishing interest in the episode trailers when they crop up.
Like I said, nothing unusual: the ‘hype train’ has to depart at some point. But with the first series now a few episodes over the half way point, we thought we’d see how many of you are still keeping up with it, especially since the trio’s switch from TV to online is going to have a big effect on how you consume the content they make.
So, assuming you have been watching the series already, make your voice heard in the polls below, and then let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Paid out for amazon prime , not going to waste the money by not watching it.
Lacks direction or objective, just too loose, bit hard to reclaim now as it is mainly prerecorded. They could at least come up with some regular items to pin it together, just need to get imaginative or maybe we the viewers could come up with some ideas
8/10, because still no cheap car challenges. But otherwise, awesome
Im sure that will come soon
Has
9/10, just to let some room for improvement.
I think every episode is getting better. After watching 6th episode, i thought it can’t really get any better then bumm, Namibia special is a damn great one. Since they’re not backed by BBC anymore, it’s great to see their not-so-Political-Correct personality shining, it’s great they don’t have to afraid of fat women issuing them because they said an orange colored Porsche is rubbish, just because that whale’s favorite colour is orange. I mean, there are some hilarious stuff you couldn’t really imagine there (like sticking a rubber penis to May’s buggy for example). I’m really glad they had the guts to leave the pretendious, wide faced, grumpy old man BBC alone.
Of course there are some low points in the show, some scenes are made up where you can’t feel the 3 guy’s benchmark chemistry (like where May gets killed 14 times in a row), and Celebrity Braincrash got tiring and predictable after a couple of times (ok, when Kimi got alcohol poisoned was kinda funny) . I get the point that it’s an entertaining show for the wide public and not a hardcore test driver one, but as the fellow petrolheads mentioned above, a bit more professional car reviews would be welcomed. They’re one of the most experienced car testers out there, it would be great to see them actually reviewing cars.
no none interested in car that why there less car reviews, in my view maybe season 2 more car reviews as no one is talking about cars anymore that why the grand tour a hit they listen to the public next year maybe cars will be popular again.
To answer the question: Is that even a valid question? Yes we are!
it great not knowing the viewing figures, as that sometimes spoils the tv show the so called ratings battle in my view.

they wanted to interview Celebrity, but are barred by Copyright law so they kill them instead. the segeway into a second feature is well done, like a celebrity braincrush into santa crotto and christmas presents brilliant.
in total Celebrity braincrush can kill 5 minutes iff tv time.
when Jeff Bezos announced that the Grand tour was a hit Matt, he said it got a 9.6 IDMB rating and rotten Tomatoes Audience Index rating off 97 per cent for the holy trinity opener.
it currently sit after it global launch on a 9.2 IDMD rating and Rotten Tomatoes Audience index of 83 per cent that excellent 8 shows into a 13 show run.
Grand tour has 2.5 million social media followers, that important Matt as when Clarkson did Top Gear season 22 the Overnight ratings were 6.5 million Evans Top Gear overnight 3.9 million a 2.6 million drop. so Amazon has pick up those viewers, on their social media sites such as facebook, twitter, instagram and Youtube as Grand Tour youtube site has 409 thousand subscribes and 30 million views good numbers since it was set up in may 2016.
Amazon boss are impressed by the subscriber numbers, more than the views Matt as it took Top Gear 10 years to get 5 million subscribers and 1.5 billion view most of them under Clarkson reign so there doing okay post Top Gear.
Chris evans has a point to much stock is put into ratings.
