Audi R8 GT3 Driver Flips At Macau Yet Still Wins Race
Vanthoor won the qualifying race on Saturday but a red flag emerged on the opening lap after a crash at the final corner, which resulted in lengthy barrier repairs.
The clocks counted down and with 15 minutes to go, the race resumed. In typical Macau style, it didn’t take long for another red flag to come out but this time it was for Vanthoor.
Earl Bamber slipstreamed ahead of Vanthoor when the Macau GT World Cup race finally resumed. But a mistake at the fast Mandarin kink pitched Vanthoor into the wall and his car launched into the air, rolling over and landing on its roof.
He emerged from his damaged Audi R8 unscathed but the race was red flagged after just one full lap of proper racing, with time running out for it to continue. So Vanthoor was declared winner, despite crashing out and causing the race to be stopped. How bizarre, classic Macau!

Because winning on four wheels is too mainstream…
The driver might ‘Flipped out” when he finds out that he won the race (Godzilla stop the terrible puns)
When you flip your car but win the race

This shows the creativity of Belgian people :)
Apparently nothing was going to stop Audi bowing out with wins.
And what do the judges think of that?
