Ayrton Senna's 1991 Championship-Winning Race Suit Is Up For Sale
This perfectly preserved Ayrton Senna race suit from 1991 is going up for auction next month
Ayrton Senna won his third and final Formula 1 world championship in 1991, at the wheel of the Honda-powered McLaren MP4/6.
He did so wearing this race suit, which is going under the auction hammer at RM's Monaco sale next month. It has been preserved in 'wonderful condition' and includes documentation supplied by McLaren CEO Ron Dennis, who kept the suit in his personal collection.
It would certainly make the ultimate piece of F1 memorabilia. Want it? The suit is expected to fetch between £25,000 and £30,000. Today (May 1st), marks the 20th anniversary of Senna's tragic death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
