Bad Guy Chevy Dealer Took This Camaro For A Joyride, And It Came Back Totalled
It's every petrolhead's worst nightmare. You entrust your pride and joy with your local dealer, and they total it. That's exactly what happened to Debbie and John Hooper, who dropped their 11,000 mile Camaro ZL1 off at First State Chevrolet, Georgetown, to fix a paintwork issue last November.
However, while the car was there, 42-year-old First State employee Eric Peterson took it for a drive, and ended up wrapping the 580bhp car round a telegraph poll. Unsurprisingly, it was a write-off. First State owner Bob Hansen has said that Peterson no longer works for them, and claims the car was taken without permission.
Peterson has been charged with careless driving and failure to be in possession of insurance information. The incident has left the Hoopers in a bitter dispute with First State, as they want a brand new ZL1 as a replacement, but the dealer is so far refusing.
