Bask In The Middle Class Glory Of The New Volvo V90 Cross Country
Like the look of the Volvo V90, but want something that can tackle some light to moderate off-roading, even if you might not actually take it off-piste? You’ll be wanting the newly revealed V90 Cross Country.
It’s a car we’ve been expecting for a while - Volvo is something of a pioneer in the world of off road-ified estates, kicking off with the V70 Cross Country almost 20 years ago.
It’s wider than the standard V90, and rides higher on wheels wrapped in off-road friendly tyres developed especially for the car. It comes with four-wheel drive as standard, and to make sure it’s extra tough, the ladies and gents at Volvo tested the car in temperatures as low as -40 degrees centigrade in the north of Sweden, and in the intense heat of the desert in Arizona.
T5 and T6 petrol versions will be available, but as with the regular V90, us UK buyers are expected to get only the D4 and D5 diesel models for the time being.
What do you think of Volvo’s new rough and ready wagon? Would you have one over the normal V90?

Damn….
Those tail lights.
Please don’t ban me for swearing.
Don’t worry this isn’t YouTube.
Am I the only one who would love to name this big sexy sally?
Count me in:)
Best looking saloon of 2016 by FAR and a lot :DDD
The more you look at the new Volvos, the more you start to realise that complex design lines and aero this and that is all BS. There’s something about a simple clean look. Like a Swedish supermodel…
IKEA figured that out a long time ago, them Swedes sure know what they are doing
Well aero still plays a part, if you took this car to a wind tunnel it would probably do similar to other suvs. But yeah love the classy look :3
Such good cars too!
The tank is back…
I’d take this over the XC90.
Is it just me or is it kinda funny that cars like these come “with four-wheel drive as standard” and modern SUV’s are mostly FWD nowadays… strange world we live in…
We swedes know our buisness;)
A post about a station wagon but still nothing on the hotroddragweek event.
This will compete directly with the Subaru Outback which sits way too high for a station wagon because Americans love crossovers? Might be a few grand more expensive, which I would happily pay. This thing is beautiful
More directly with an a6 allroad
