Best Taxi Ever? Renault's Megane Trophy V6

The Renaultsport Megane Trophy is a very serious racing car. It has a mid-mounted, 400hp, 3.5-litre V6 engine. A paddle-shift gearbox. A spaceframe chassis. It weighs just 980kg. And it is immensely fast.

It's a fair assumption, then, that the Megane Trophy would be absolutely hopeless as a road car, much less a taxi. But some bright spark thought otherwise and challenged Renault to take one to the streets of Paris and give random people lifts.

As it turns out, the Trophy is an amazing taxi. So long as you don't mind vicious speed. And an engine noise like a very large, very angry mosquito. And a properly awesome sideways-monkey of a driver.

Paris does actually have very nice taxis, but getting around would be so much more fun and a hell of a lot faster if Renault gifted the French some Megane Trophy taxis. Do it Renault, we dare you.
