The BMW i Vision Dynamics Is A Futuristic EV That'll Morph Into The i5
What’s you’re looking at isn’t the ‘i5’ we were all expecting BMW to reveal. But don’t be fooled by the ‘i Vision Dynamics’ name - this striking, all-electric concept effectively serves as a preview for the third production car in the ‘i’ line-up.
Of the new car, chairman of the Board of Management at BMW Harald Krüger said:
“With the BMW i Vision Dynamics we are showcasing how we envisage future electric mobility between the i3 and i8: a dynamic and progressive, four-door Gran Coupe. We are therefore electrifying the heart of the BMW brand and, at the same time, elevating BMW i into a totally new dimension.”
Like the X7 concept revealed last week, this is a BMW with some pretty serious kidney grilles. Only here, they’re joined together in the middle blanked off - there’s no engine behind them to cool, after all.
Other than that though, it’s a fairly restrained, subtly-styled thing. BMW says it’s supposed to appear “as if cut from a single mould,” sticking to the BMW i design philosophy of “I do more with less.”
BMW hasn’t divulged much in the way of technical information, but is claiming a four second 0-62mph time, a 120mph top speed and a range of up to 376 miles.
What do you think of the concept? Will our inevitably electrified motoring future be easier to swallow if the cars end up looking like this? Voice your thoughts in the comments…

With the size of these new BMW grilles, it seems like they are going to be grilled by the community…
Really, they’re getting obscene. Rest of they car looks nice though. Looks like it is made from just one body panel
No. Just no
Eek.
It looks terrible
Bigger isn’t always better
It’s somewhat better, but I wish BMW would just make electric versions of their current cars. I mean I love the i8 but I would take a 5-series and and X5 over this and an i3
The heck with the grill..
leaked photo from BMW mood board
i3 and i5? Ryzen are better😂
Only PC builders/gamers will understand😂
I’m surprised Intel’s lawyers aren’t all over the BMW naming scheme…
It looks great
