This Is The Brabham BT62's Surprisingly Basic Official Racing Livery
Brabham Automotive has unveiled its first factory racing colour scheme for its track-only BT62 supercar, and it’s… quite simple.
The 972kg beast, which produces over 1200kg of downforce via wings the size of small aircraft carriers, has switched from the gold-on-green of the launch livery to a predominantly white outfit with minor green, black and red details.
While we’re fairly sure that Brabham will let customers buying the £1 million animal choose their own colours if they want to, this is the official look, and will form the basis of any racing liveries the company uses.
According to reports, the car has already smashed Australia’s Philip Island circuit’s official lap record. The 700bhp on tap from the – surprisingly – naturally-aspirated 5.4-litre V8, which was adapted from a ‘respected’ OEM’s block, is clearly enough to make the new machine fly.
The first deliveries are said to be (cough) on track for later this year. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing more footage of them in action.
