The Brabus 850 6.0 Cabrio Is Officially The Fastest Way To Destroy Your Hair In A Car
For most, the shouty V8 products of Mercedes-AMG belt out more than enough power. For everyone else, there’s Brabus, and the German tuner’s latest effort looks suitably mad. It’s called the 850 6.0 Cabrio, and to create it, Brabus has taken a drop-top Mercedes S63 with its mere 577bhp and cranked the V8 violence up to 838bhp, which is (fortunately) doled out to all four wheels. Oh, and it’s also good for 1069lb ft of torque. Should do.
Up front you’ll find AMG’s tried and tested 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8. Well, at least that’s what it used to be, but there’s now very little of the original engine left. It displaces 6.0 litres (as you probably gathered from the ‘6.0’ bit of the name), and has received a new forged crankshaft, pistons, rods and a revised cylinder head.
With the newfound power, the 850 will get you from 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds - down from 4.4 - and on to top speed of 217mph. Not only is that enough to completely destroy your hair, it also - according to Brabus - makes for the world’s fastest production convertible.
There’s no word on price, but it’d be safe to assume all those engine changes, the bare carbonfibre body additions and the 21-inch front/22-inch rear forged wheels don’t come particularly cheap. If you have to ask, and all that…

People need to understand the difference between cabriolet and roadster/spyder. In a cabriolet like this one, you can simply press a button to put the roof down. In cars like the One:1, Veyron Vitesse and venom gt spyder, which is what makes them roadsters or spyders. The roof has to be removed by hand. And it is clearly stated that this car is the fastest Cabrio. So it is not competing with any HyperCars.
I don’t care! I need one in my life! :D
The front looks evil! The rear is sexy! And me in the middle, behind the steering wheel - perfection!
Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse anyone?
