Brabus G V12 S: 700bhp, 1320nM ...Geländewagen?
Somewhere out there, a billionaire just jumped for joy and shouted "Finally!" Because what the world really needed was a 700 horsepower, 973 lb-ft of torque... military-vehicle-turned-passenger vehicle, built by Mercedes-Benz, and fettled by Brabus.

This sort of discussion is completely pointless when talking about this type of car, of course. Acclaimed German tuning house Brabus released pictures and detailed information of their latest mentalist bahn-burning Benz, and it's... well, insane.
The company starts with a basic Geländewagen - a G500 to us in the US - and ditches the stock, weak little 5.0L V8. In goes the 36-valve, 5.5L biturbo V12 from the large S600 sedan, which I'd imagine is somewhat of a tight fit. Not content with the 500+bhp this mill produces stock, the metal alchemists at Brabus bore and stroke the V12 out to a healthier 6.3 liters, the cylinder heads are ported, and more aggressive camshafts are fitted. Taking advantage of the fortified internals, Brabus upgrades the turbochargers on the V12, increases the capacity of the intercooling system, and reprograms the ECU to suit the changes. Rounding things off is a custom side-exit exhaust system with high-flow catalysts, for some extra perk. The result is massive: 690bhp@5100 rpm, and 937lb-ft of torque (1320nM)@2100rpm. However, in this automatic 4-wheel-drive application, torque is electronically limited to only 1100nM - 811 lb-ft. Bummer.
Brabus claims this overendowed 4-wheel will blast to 60mph in only 4.2 seconds, on it's way to an electronically limited top speed of 150mph. They also claim that de-limited, this 700bhp G-wagen will do 163mph top out- simply insane.
Brabus spices up the outside with custom fender flares, gorgeous drop-forged alloys (10.5" in width!) that range from 20" to 22" in diameter, big sticky tires, LED daytime running lights under the headlights in the front, and some body addendum (aerodynamic front fascia, BRABUS rear bumper, lit step rails, etc.) Thankfully, they've seen fit to upgrade the brakes on this 700bhp farm implement, considering it has well more than twice it's stock output.
Brabus also turns their detail-oriented eye towards the interior. The whole interior is reswathed in Brabus' exclusive Mastik leather, along with a sport steering wheel, 175mph (280kp/h) gauges, and some other goodies. Also available on the G V12 S are a slew of high-tech interior items, like high-output stereos, integrated 8" LCD screen for the rear headrests (crucial!), a DVBT TV Tuner, and even infrared headphones for the rear passengers.
Pricing on Brabus' latest pavement punisher start at a heady €379,000, and all cars are built-to-order, as you'd expect. So if you were looking for a 700bhp V12-powered off roader, your time has arrived!
