Buying A Used F1 Car Isn't As Expensive As You'd Think
Owning a Formula 1 car seems like a distant dream that will never come true, but making that dream a reality isn’t quite as expensive as you might think, as these bargains prove.
Sure, they aren’t exactly cheap, but these are F1 cars we are talking about. Mark Webber’s Red Bull Racing RB3 from 2007, which comes with a V8 engine and spare parts (in case it turns out you have the driving skills of Pastor Maldonado), is currently on the market for £250,000.
The Aussie drove the car - chassis number two - in the opening five races of the 2007 season, which was his first at Red Bull Racing. It is believed to be the only raced Red Bull F1 car in private ownership.
Meanwhile, if you want something a bit cheaper, Jenson Button’s BAR Honda from 2004 is also up for sale at just £60,000. It doesn’t come with an engine, but it will certainly be an attention-grabbing decoration in your home.
The car helped Button to third in the 2004 drivers’ standings, making it one of his most successful seasons in Formula 1.
