Car Cameo: How To Survive The Zombie Apocalypse With Hyundai

We’ve all mulled over how we would cope in the event of a zombie apocalypse, and as car geeks it's only natural that thoughts should turn to the ultimate survival vehicle. Who would’ve guessed it would be a Hyundai?

To celebrate the 100th issue of Robert Kirkman’s hugely popular comic book series, Hyundai commissioned The Walking Dead’s writer and creator to customise an Elantra for the grim world his characters inhabit.

Should you manage to survive your journey to the local Hyundai dealership, the Zombie Survival Machine features extras such as metal slates across the windows, wheel-mounted blades and a scooped battering ram that allows the driver to plough through hordes of the undead with ease.

Kirkman’s personal favourite modification is the sunroof mounted guardrail that will probably appeal to the gun-toting zombie slayers among us, allowing occupants to pop their head through the sunroof without fear of becoming somebody’s lunch.

Hyundai are unveiling the finished Elantra at Comic-Con on July 11th, but until then you can head over to HyundaiUndead.com to follow the build’s progress.
