Is Car Insurance Unfair?

The thought of having to insure your car can result in a hives outbreak for many of us road users - we see insurance premiums going up year upon year despite building up our no claims bonus which is meant to make premiums go down!

Many see this premium increase as an industry issue due to the number of fake claims being put in by other drivers. It's these claims for whiplash, pretend crashes and other events which are often seen as being the reason why insurance premiums are on the up. For many, car insurance is seen as being particularly unfair, but is this really the case and is it just a necessary evil to afford driving on safer roads?

Many insurance companies will be the first to say that they make no profit from car insurance policies - in fact they usually lose money on them and any profit they could make is passed back to the customer in terms of discounts and other savings such as deals with breakdown companies or replacement cars. Any rise in their premiums is in fact due to the number of bogus claims they receive.

However car insurance companies are always looking to help out their customers where they can, so whilst premiums may rise slightly due to other drivers claiming insurance, companies such as www.endsleigh.co.uk are looking to benefit customers in other ways.

"Endsleigh car insurance offers customers up to 76% no claims discount, a replacement car as standard and repairs which are guaranteed for up to 5 years. On top of these standard items within all their policies Endsleigh offers customers a choice to design their own policy and include items such as breakdown cover, excess protection, personal accident cover or up to £2,500 key cover to name but a few policy options."

So whilst many people would agree that to some extent the cost of car insurance policies are unfair, take note that there are companies out there who are trying to readdress this through the policy bonuses they offer.
